<eva> Hey @bitmynt good to have you here. There’s a couple different ways to catch up on news and get involved with the community. We (http://Stellar.org|Stellar.org) have a blog with news and announcements (check this category particularly: https://www.stellar.org/blog/category/stellar-news/) New integrations and the like are typically announced there and/or here on Slack. The most recent important news would be the

technically. Like @lab pointed out, there’s still http://stellarverse.org|stellarverse.org, though most developers hang out here in Slack in the #dev channel.
<stellar-slack>
<eva> From your twitter it seems like you’ve been in the Bitcoin space for quite a while - what got you started in it?

<stellar-slack>
<tintin778> et je travaille entre paris Tunis en ce moment
<stellar-slack>

<stellar-slack>

<stellar-slack>
<john> So what do you do for living?
<stellar-slack>
<tintin778> working on a remittance platform
<stellar-slack>
<tintin778> dedicated at first at the African market especially North africa
<stellar-slack>
<john> Are you interested to implement Stellar with your platform?
<stellar-slack>
<tintin778> we are looking at ways to take advantage of the block chain technology, so we are having a look around to see what's out there
<stellar-slack>
<tintin778> and steller could help
<stellar-slack>
<tintin778> how about you?
<stellar-slack>
<tintin778> what do you do?
<stellar-slack>
<john> I'm a volunteer for an international organisation. Currently living & working in Turkey. A passion for crypto but Stellar in particular.
<stellar-slack>
<john> Is there anything I can help you out regarding Stellar? Any questions?
<stellar-slack>
<tintin778> why a passion for stellar out of the hundred cryptos out there?
<stellar-slack>
<john> Because it's the only organisation out there whose ambition is for technology to help solve some of the world’s most intractable problems such as financial inclusion.
<stellar-slack>
<john> Besides, Stellar is currently the fastest, cleanest and "easy to use" network out there
<stellar-slack>
<tintin778> Is the fact that it is non profit a major plus?
<stellar-slack>
<john> Yes I would say so. What do you think?
<stellar-slack>
<tintin778> cool, thank you for your insight
<stellar-slack>
<tintin778> A très bientot!!!
<stellar-slack>
<john> you too mate! Keep in touch any time!

<john> Thanks @jed! Here you go @bkolobara (see comment above)
<stellar-slack>
<bkolobara> @jed: I didn't have a deeper look into it and maybe I'm misinterpreting the data, but this is the price USD/XLM https://poloniex.com/exchange#usdt_str and this is BTC/XLM https://poloniex.com/exchange#btc_str . For me it looked like the BTC/XLM price always goes the opposite direction to BTC/USD so that USD/XLM stays the same. But than again I have no idea how this trading platforms work :)
<stellar-slack>
<jed> yeah the XLM price seems to track USD more closely than BTC. not sure why?
<stellar-slack>
<goodside> I suspect what it's really tracking is CNY.
<stellar-slack>
<goodside> Nearly all altcoins do more exchange with BTC than any fiat.
<stellar-slack>
<goodside> Though measuring that is a lot messier than just adding the volumes. Like Litecoin's top pair is nominally LTC/USD, but surely almost everyone who buys Litecoin pays for it from a BTC wallet, using BTC-E USD as an intermediary.
