<qu1j0t3> can't you cross-compile?
* qu1j0t3 may be a dumb question
<cr1901_modern> I'm not setting up a libc and all the associated prerequisites that nextpnr and icestorm depends on
<cr1901_modern> That might've been fun in my early 20's (linux from scratch was fun back in the day), but I have _no_ interest in that crap now
* qu1j0t3 nods
<cr1901_modern> increasing swap to 2GB worked
<swetland> having worked a bunch with vivado, my expectations for eda tools running in limited memory and compute are very low...
<cr1901_modern> the point was it used to work. Hell, you could compile the tools on rpi3 (1GB RAM)

<maikmerten> I added
<maikmerten> -r [ --randomize-seed ] randomize seed value for random number generator
<maikmerten> to my copy of nextpnr... is this considered a worthy addition for upstream?

<mithro> daveshah: What is the preferred way to report something which "works" in icecube2 but not in nextpnr? I haven't really had time to figure out why
<daveshah> mithro: probably just create a gh issue
<daveshah> Unless it's something self obvious like timing
<mithro> daveshah: I *think* that it is caused by timing related stuff through the PLL -- but what is unclear to me is that nextpnr reports the clock-domain frequency is faster than the 48MHz the PLL is outputting...
<daveshah> mithro: have you tried with tnt's PR?
<mithro> Nope!
<daveshah> That fixed a PLL bug
<mithro> Has that been merged?
<daveshah> That affected the tinyfpga bx board
<mithro> Yeap, on the tinyfpga-bx board
<daveshah> No not merged yet
