mithro: Yeah. github feeds are not crowded out by other content like reddit feeds so it's more likely to be seen there.

Unless there's something I don't know I'd expect the answer to be Pretty Much No
<pointfree>
I'd hesitate to set up a discourse forum or mailing list before there is a need for it. Maybe some day when there are more supported devices and lots of newbie help questions.

pointfree: I find mailing lists are actually more useful for developer discussion than newbie helping
<awygle>
i strongly dislike mailing lists, personally
<awygle>
too much overhead, presents a barrier to discussion. plus there's too much email in my life already

awygle: my understanding is that the free IP is actually free on their store

mithro: before we add any more public presences to the project
<azonenberg>
we should probably rename it :p

azonenberg: which project?
<mithro>
efabless fund Tim (not me, a different Tim) to work on qflow which is open source -- so that is pretty good
<azonenberg>
mithro: there is another "openfpga" which may present a trademark collision
<azonenberg>
they seem to be largely defunct and are unlikely to actually send us a C&D or anything
<azonenberg>
but i'd rather rename our group pre-emptively to avoid trouble
<azonenberg>
i just havent had time to sit down and figure out a new name etc

librefpga :-P
<rqou>
i think "libre" makes for terrible names
<jn__>
and terrible puns: gcc -lreflow

Is there any way to decap an IC without chemicals? I'm extremely reluctant to do anything with acids, since I was never very good at chemistry :P

send it to somebody who loves doing it :)

cyrozap: I wonder if a high resolution microscopic x-ray image through the chip would be physically feasable and small enough to detect the small details of an IC, avoiding using chemistry.
