<cr1901_modern> Even the adapters of the tl866 have DRM lmao
<TD-Linux> really? all of the ones I use are passive
<cr1901_modern> Incl/ the 40 to 48 pin adapter?
<cr1901_modern> One of the adapters has a PIC on it
<cr1901_modern> Anyways I asked in #proghq. Maybe I'm misremembering
<m4t> yeah my adapters are mostly passive too
<m4t> in fact all of them might be, would need to check
<cr1901_modern> (8:52:39 PM) digshadow: cr1901_modern: I vaguely recall there was DRM, never looked into details. I don't have that adapter either
<cr1901_modern> Well, nevermind for now
<m4t> it almost seems like some of the adapters for that one @ mcumall do bank switching automatically
<m4t> like tsop-48 -> 40pin
<m4t> idk https://www.mcumall.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&path=62&product_id=171

<m4t> for example it says it supports these https://www.dataman.com/media/datasheet/Spansion/MBM29DL32XxE.pdf
<TD-Linux> oh yeah for tsop-48 I go beg my friend to program them for me
<m4t> heh

<andlabs> m4t: adapters?
<m4t> the programmer only has a 40pin zif dip socket
<m4t> any other package type needs an adapter
<andlabs> oh
<andlabs> wouldn't that be true of any other programmer?

<m4t> requiring adapters, or having adapters that allow using chips with > the programmer's native number of pins?
<m4t> first, mostly, second, no
<m4t> i did get an adapter for my tl866ii which allows doing some 42pin eproms even tho it's got 40
<m4t> but you have to manually set jumpers/dip switches
<andlabs> requiring adapters, I mean
<andlabs> I'll come back to this when I get the passport designs interface and open it up
