<cr1901_modern> m4t: You may wish to join #proghq for info about FOSS tl866 firmware. Though tbh, I think I'd rather we just create our own open programmer at this point
<cr1901_modern> (though digshadow doesn't really want to)
<cr1901_modern> whitequark: Are there C bindings for smoltcp? I want to start prototyping a parallel port SSL accelerator on my Nucleo. I want to figure out how slow I can make the micro while still successfully negotiating an SSL connection.
<cr1901_modern> And it's prob easier to generate C bindings to smoltcp than generate Rust bindings to bearSSL.
<whitequark> the latter is probably easier, surprisingly enough
* cr1901_modern nods
<m4t> cr1901_modern: yeah i use the minipro linux cmdline util, but no open firmware for this one (yet)

<andlabs> I was just gonna use this one
<m4t> thats what im using
<andlabs> if it's good enough for ben eater it should be good enough for me????
<andlabs> not running on windows might be a problem though
<andlabs> (ben and I both use macs)
<m4t> if you want to update the firmware of the thing you need the windows software
<andlabs> oh
<andlabs> lol
<m4t> mine had 1 update since i got it several months ago
<andlabs> we'll see if I need to do that at all or not
<andlabs> oh yeah! the shipping
<m4t> also for the self-test and probably some of the other stuff like MCU programmer, sram test, 7400 logic test
<m4t> hmm maybe it can do fw -f <filename>Update firmware (should be update.dat)
<andlabs> SHIPMENT RECEIVED ACCEPTANCE PENDING
<andlabs> CINCINNATI, OH 45234
<andlabs> PRE-SHIPMENT INFO SENT USPS AWAITS ITEM
<andlabs> HEBRON, KY 41048
<andlabs> I guess mine is indeed coming from a warehouse in flyover city, nowhere
<m4t> bought it from usa seller?
<andlabs> no, from that first official one
<andlabs> I'm guessing the storage is cheap in kentucky
<andlabs> sunwenjun
<andlabs> still it's really odd that there would only be one model of eeprom programmer still being made
<andlabs> oh well
<andlabs> bbl
<m4t> hmm i think mine came from china

<cr1901_modern> ya know, I'm trying to get ppl interested in open firmware for tl866, but it seems to be backfiring... forget it
<cr1901_modern> There is just not enough critical mass and digshadow, Elemecca, and I can't be the only 3 ppl working on it
<m4t> :(
