Hi, I have a problem with go-ipfs. When I add a file it is available locally, however when I try to access it from another ipfs node (or a gateway) it is not there. Eventually it does appear but it takes between 1 and 20 minutes (1 min is reasonable of course). I am using the default configs. I also tried ipfs dht provides but to no avail. Is this a general limitation of IPFS or a config I can tweak? Thank you very much in advance I
<dpp23>
I discovered this only happens for the first file I add after I start the daemon. I am assuming it is the consensus protocol that takes a while to sync initially. Is there a way to trigger it so that once I need to share a file, I know it will take a predictable amount of time.
<vyzo>
dpp23: you are probably behind a NAT and you have to have a direct conneciton to the gateway to be visible
<vyzo>
eventually this happens as you are connecting to the dht over time
<dpp23>
I am indeed behind a NAT

Thank you!

Ah, thanks Mr0grog (and thanks for the PR!). I got confused since `master` version matches the NPM version.
<Mr0grog>
In `package.json`?

Ah, yeah, it might be better if that was set to something else on non-release commits; I know a number of projects have scripts that only fill it in as part of the publish process.

<daviddias>
interesting
<daviddias>
yeah, definitely there are projects that have dev branches
<Mr0grog>
I've seen both situations where it’s not meaningful in git and it’s only filled in with the `tar` that gets published, but also projects where the first commit post-release is to bump the version to `x.y.z-post` or `x.y.z-dev`
<Mr0grog>
Also dev branches
<coyotespike>
I hit the same issue the PR fixes: when running integration tests, I create two IPFS nodes, with different repos. But they have the same ID. libp2p dialing doesn't work, probably due to this.
<Mr0grog>
coyotespike: I _think_ most things should generally work fine if you wait for the first node to start
<Mr0grog>
So if you create the first, wait, _then_ create the second, that should work for now
<coyotespike>
Hmmm.
<Mr0grog>
IIRC there aren’t any commands that use that singleton object after a node is started
