<edrex> any examples/patterns for aggregating/republishing updates from multiple IPNS keys? Thinking specifically of a server node keeps a list of active browser node keys and automatically republishes their union (pending https://github.com/ipfs/js-ipfs/issues/209 of course).

<mattober[m]> So I'm running into a bit of an odd situation here. For some reason my gateway isn't finding a hash that's pinned on a node it's directly connected to. I have my IPFS node directly connected via "ipfs swarm connect" to my gateway node, port 4001 is open on both machines, and for whatever reason, that piece of content isn't getting found by my gateway
dadabidet has left #ipfs ["Leaving"]
<mattober[m]> so upon further investigation, I had made some configuration changes and hadn't yet rebooted my node. I'm not sure if that caused the issue, but rebooting my node fixzed the issue
<mattober[m]> Does anybody know if it's immediately required to reboot your node after config changes?
codewaffle has joined #ipfs
placer14 has joined #ipfs
zeden has joined #ipfs
<Magik6k> mattober: yep, for most changes you need to reboot your node, but changing configuration while the node is running shouldn't break anything
<mattober[m]> I changed the setting Reprovider.Strategy in .ipfs/config to roots
<mattober[m]> so my theory is that it could have put it into some strange null state where it wasn't broadcasting anything
<Magik6k> mattober: The Reprovider.Strategy setting is applied when node stasts, so this shouldn't affect anything (plus any reprovider strategy other than `roots` on even smallish repos probably won't be working well)
<mattober[m]> magik6k:
<mattober[m]> that's interesting. I'll have to do some more research on what went wrong then. Can you think of anything that rebooting a node would have helped?

<fps> stebalien: thanks
<shoku> We got a version working (see code on https://github.com/Epona-app/Epona)
<shoku> But it's a bit slow tbh
<shoku> If you add a hash that has a ton of files in there it basically freezes
<shoku> and even if you add a small thing it takes some time to resolve
<shoku> and I think it doesn't cache, so it's slow every time
<shoku> but it "works"! :)
<djdv> nice B^)

<shoku> So either we need to change how we use the fuse mount (maybe we're using the wrong stuff, maybe we're using stuff wrong), or maybe there's some tweaks to the fuse mount that could help fix things
<djdv> it's likely on my end, IIRC the last push+build was pretty slow and unstable
<djdv> something around IPNS could cause panics and there's no caching at all
bomb-on has quit [Quit: SO LONG, SUCKERS!]
