One question, can I store arbitrary IPLD data on the Filecoin network? I have not been able to figure out if Filecoin just supports IPFS or also custom IPLD data models.

Hello, I noticed that the discovery option is not implemented in ipfs-js PUBSUB. What's the procedure for manually discovering nodes? Let's say I have a set of known multiaddrs of peers who are subscribed to topic X, how would I go about "adding" them to my node so that we can exchange messages?

Well, that should be stored in the DHT AFAIK
<RubenKelevra>
But I'm not sure.

<blzDiscord[m]1>
Hmm... AFAIK the peer discovery system for PUBSUB uses the DHT, but it's not implemented right now. But I guess that might just be the rendezvous logic? i.e.: somehow entering the peers who are known to be subscribed to topic X into the DHT will allow the PUBSUB system to connect to those peers?
<blzDiscord[m]1>

RubenKelevra Let me just make sure I'm following you.
<blzDiscord[m]1>
I get that I can find peers and connect to peers using the DHT (or the Go client, or whatever). I'm wondering what it takes for the pubsub system to connect to peers that are participating in a topic.
<blzDiscord[m]1>
Are you saying that I can just query for providers of a given topic somehow? Then what? If I connect to them, will it Just Work?

<Ericson2314>
Ignoring any git integration nicetiess, what is the out of the box way to `ipfs dag {put.get}` a git tree object or blob object?
<momack2[m]>

It is bridged to matrix, but not all the sub-channels
<swedneck>
matrix.org has a slack bridge

I believe #filecoin-help also posts to the same channel

Hey...I have a question about the uniqueness of content on IPFS. I understand that contents are split into blocks and each blocks are content addressable...ie have a CID and contents are joined together via a Markle dag structure
<moinmoin>
My question is how truly unique contents are, because I believe I can arrive at a different CID depending on the chunk size I use for splitting the blocks
<moinmoin>
so I can have the same content, in the network but with different CID. Right?

essentially you just use the DHT and a discovery service to advertise that you are publishing/listening on a particular topic, and then you can use the dht/discovery service to also discover people in the sam etopic
