<bonedaddyDiscor4>
thats what happens when you store the entire pinset as a recursive DAG
<Zalyssa>
it gets really daggy
<ruben_kelevra[m]>
I actually just store just individually files as pins
lufi has joined #ipfs
<ruben_kelevra[m]>
-just
<bonedaddyDiscor4>
unless you're using MFS, actually even with MFS I'm pretty sure the pinset gets stored either as an IPLD object, or there's a lot of dag traversal done when pinning something cause you need to walk the entire dag
<ruben_kelevra[m]>
well ... yeah

<TraderOne[m]>
everytime ipfs starts is has zero knowledge of DHT and uses only bootstrap nodes to join network?

<odisseus[m]>
The underluing IP network is subject to change
<odisseus[m]>
* The underlying IP network is subject to change
<odisseus[m]>
For example, the IP address of your node changes as you move your laptop from home to office to cafe etc.
<odisseus[m]>
Nevertheless, your IPFS peer ID stays the same
<odisseus[m]>
This means that you cannot assume about any node that you know its current IP address, unless you are currently holding a direct connection to it
<TraderOne[m]>
how to repair output of ipfs pin verify to fetch these missing stuff?
<odisseus[m]>
I don't know how the bootstrap nodes are maintained, but I guess they are, to the contrary, guaranteed to stay at the same addresses
<odisseus[m]>
But if all nodes from that list move or go offline, you'll be in trouble
<odisseus[m]>
You can change the list of bootstrapping nodes in the configuration of your node
<odisseus[m]>
But if all nodes from that list move or go offline, you'll be in trouble

<TraderOne[m]>
Can i view values or at least count how many I keep in my part of DHT?
<TraderOne[m]>
Node has always the same position in DHT keyspace or its randomized each time like torrents do
<odisseus[m]>
Is that a question?

If you're asking about the peer ID of your node, it is normally generated only once and remains the same. However, you can regenerate it manually.
