was just wondering, is the desktop application known to work on Raspberry Pi running Raspbian?
<cobalt00>
Wanted to perhaps set up a Pi as a remote node
<fabianhjr>
cobalt00: if it help I am running a daemon on my computer and it uses ~140 MB of memory and has a very low cpu usage most of the time, though I only use it to brwose and pin a couple of things like ipfs docs.
<fabianhjr>
So definitly doable, but I don't think it would be able to serve much content/bandwidth.

Depending on the pi version you have you might be better off just running the node on the pi and the desktop app on your computer
<bonedaddyDiscor4>
If you have anything other than the 4B I doubt you would be able to run both the node, the desktop app, and the rasbian desktop at the same time

cobalt00: well, the docs say that IPFS should run fine on 2 GB memory devices. Without a gui, mind you. I found, that it works fine with 1 GB of memory, when there's enough space to swap away some of the peak memory consumption.
<RubenKelevra[m]>
So if you're running a Raspberry Pi, make sure to have a swap device :)

<RubenKelevra[m]>
I made the go-ipfs-git AUR package a bit more fancy:
<RubenKelevra[m]>
- prepare step now downloads the dependencys instead of the build step
<RubenKelevra[m]>
- the go-cache is now local to the package and can be handled by yay, for the clean build function as well as the cache cleanup
<RubenKelevra[m]>
this means the dependencies will be redownloaded once, and you need to clear the old cache entries. Details for this on the AUR package page:
