<Dyraton01>
Hi! I just installed newest libreelec on H3 OrangePI Zero Plus2, it boots nicely but I have no way to interact with it. I want to connect terminal to it. I've tried uart (screen /dev/ttyUSB0 115200), but I've only got some debug info 9which means that UART is working), but no login prompt.
<Dyraton01>
Is there a way to make libreelec allow login via UART?
<DaVu>
Dyraton01: could you please be a bit more specific. I'm waiting for the developer to respond, but why is SSH not available for you?
<Dyraton01>
Because only available wifi network is password protected
<DaVu>
ah, so it's generally possible, but you can't connect to any kind of network
<Dyraton01>
And I cant do wireless as Orange Pi Zero Plus2 doesn't have any connector
<Dyraton01>
Yeah
<DaVu>
that seems wrong to me, according to the specs I've see, this device has Wifi
<Dyraton01>
yes, but wifi network to which I am connected with my PC is password protected
<DaVu>
If it has Wifi, then you can connect to a network. If you can connect to a network, then you have an IP, if you have an IP then you are able to ssh
<DaVu>
yeah, I understand that. but please don't say it's not possible. It is...simply create a hotspot with your smartphone or whatever
<Dyraton01>
And I cant connect keyboard or mouse as OrangePi Zaro Plus2 doesnt have necessary inputs
<Dyraton01>
Yeah, I've been thinking about that
<Dyraton01>
But still, it should have UART login prompt by default
<Dyraton01>
Also, at least on my phone Wifi access point must have at least 8 characters
<DaVu>
and?
<Dyraton01>
Ok, so how do I connect to wifi which requires password without any acccess to the box?
<Dyraton01>
No keyboard or mouse, no UART prompt, nothing
<ironfoot>
I'm not familiar with this H3 OrangePI Zero Plus2, but does it boot from an sd card?
<DaVu>
well, that's a good question, then :D. You could use another wifi device (probably based on Android) which is on the same network then and use a Kodi remote app. Such as Yatse or Kore
<DaVu>
then you are able to navigate inside Kodi and use the on-screen-keyboard for entering the password
<Dyraton01>
ok, I am dumb
<Dyraton01>
Android can't host other wifis than WPA
<Dyraton01>
So there is ability to create passwordless hotspot
<DaVu>
or that, yes
<Dyraton01>
now I have to guess IP address :D (probably 192.168.1.100x)
<Dyraton01>
ironfoot: yes, I am booting from sd card
<DaVu>
modifications can also be done by editing specific files on a PC with that sd card plugged into that pc
<ironfoot>
you could modify the filesystem to add configuration files etc by just plugging the sd card ... that ^
<ironfoot>
not that is going to be straightforward, but it's a workaround to current limitations
<DaVu>
yeah

<DaVu>
or you pair a BT remote with it
<DaVu>
as this device seems also to be BT capable
<ironfoot>
connect via ethernet to your pc
<DaVu>
good hint....without an ethernet port :D
<ironfoot>
oh /o\
<ironfoot>
that board is tiny
<DaVu>
it's the orangepi "zero", which doesn't seem to have one
<DaVu>
yeah, I would expect to much from it. But testings are always welcome ;)
<DaVu>
s/would/wouldn't

duh. I thought they wanted serial console to manage the box, and assumingly wifi was not suitable for some reason...
