jbrunet: I have heard of some users having issue with Odroid C2 emmc on 5.0, I am yet to test myself on C2 (although I believe it was working for me on 5.0-rc6). It does appear to work on N2 ok. I suspect this patch might be the cause (as also noted by other user in amlogic mailing list)

I know its probably not what you would like to here but as different boards like different settings can the phases be move to devicetree control for individual boards?

Sometime back in 4.x changing that phase setting caused my board to fail to boot (with an older emmc card) and data corruption on the emmc due to io errors.
