<kilobyte> doesn't seem to work for me, though
<kilobyte> something about not finding IRQ (would need to search for the exact message), and when that present but not working interface is put into a bridge, the kernel dies

<KotCzarny> hmm, they are called "press fit headers"
<beeble> a via should be designed for press fit. you can damage your board if the hole diamater is to small. you will probably have a connection, but if you don't use the correct parameters connection will be less then ideal
<KotCzarny> beeble: even those that look like those on pic?
<beeble> all press fit connections work the same way
<KotCzarny> this thing seems nice for quick prototyping, but hella expensive
<beeble> pogo pins are expensive
<wens> KotCzarny: I saided useless because it was not what I thought it was
<wens> KotCzarny: it was a uart header that was tied to the PF pins... kind of useless

iamfrankenstein has joined #linux-sunxi
<anarsoul> OK
<jernej> and some patches from moeicenowy[m] needs to be applied too
<anarsoul> codekipper: are you here?
<jernej> I have to rework h3/a64 hdmi driver because I got some new informations from AW
<anarsoul> anything essential?
<jernej> nothing visible for end user, except maybe hot plug detection through interrupt (instantanious)
<jernej> but that needs to be discussed, since HPD signal works in 95%
<jernej> that's why BSP hdmi driver polls it every few 10 ms and reacts only on 3 consecutive same bits
<KotCzarny> a bit off-topic, running program on arisc (h3) with cpuX and most of the things down results in ~40mA little happy diy board
<KotCzarny> now question is if i can get it further down
boycottg00gle has joined #linux-sunxi

<KotCzarny> jernej: if you provide me things/code/docs what regs i have to toggle/check, sure!
<KotCzarny> :)
<KotCzarny> i'm all paws for it
<KotCzarny> would it need wholly initializing hdmi controller or there is a simple way to sniff things?
<jernej> hdmi controller and phy need to be powered up, but tmds doesn't need to be enabled
<jernej> I would need to do few tests before I can give you right directions
<KotCzarny> k, i'm interested in it, so don't be shy
<jernej> I just discovered few things during writing A83T hdmi driver
<montjoie> anybody here with a bpim3 ?
<jernej> so I have to check it on others too
<anarsoul> KotCzarny: so do you restore clocks or it still just power off emulation?
<jernej> montjoie: me
<montjoie> jernej: do you have ethernet working on last linux-next ?
<jernej> let me test
<KotCzarny> anarsoul: power off emulation, since i'm reinitializing arisc with my firmware
<anarsoul> OK, then still waiting for working suspend :)
<KotCzarny> so syncing it back while possible, is tricky
<montjoie> jernej: thanks, the best I can have is stable ping(no loss) but bandwitch near to 0
<anarsoul> I wish they put armv4 core instead of arisc... I saw 30-40mA consumption while powered on on my old PDAs
<anarsoul> with DRAM on
<KotCzarny> anarsoul: my nokia n900 (cortex-a8) eats 10mA in idle (screen off)
<KotCzarny> ;)
<anarsoul> KotCzarny: oh, with screen on
<anarsoul> :)
<KotCzarny> screen is 800x480 lcd, so adds good 100-150mA ;)
<anarsoul> rx1950 has 320x240
<KotCzarny> anarsoul: that arisc isnt half bad, you can practically use it as normal program runner
<anarsoul> KotCzarny: yeah, but compiler is slowly rotting...
<KotCzarny> and keep in mind that quite a few clocks are running anyway
<ElBarto> montjoie: was the naming of the pin function to gmac for a83t-emac intentional ?
<jernej> montjoie: I can't get IP address though dhclient
<jernej> ElBarto: "gmac" is the right name according to pinctrl
<jernej> drive
<jernej> *driver
<ElBarto> yes but having the node named emac and the pin function gmac seems weird
<montjoie> jernej: so its broken for you also ?

clemens3 has joined #linux-sunxi
<montjoie> jernej: even without realtek PHY driver, it use the generic one
<jernej> montjoie: which config has to be set for realtek phy driver?
<jernej> just to check config
<jernej> CONFIG_REALTEK_PHY probably
<jernej> I have to rebuild kernel
<montjoie> jernej: yes CONFIG_REALTEK_PHY=y
<ElBarto> jernej: for h3 it's still named 'emac', hence my question
