<paulk-leonov> does anyone know of a board + CSI-2 camera that would "just work" with some allwinner BSP?
<KotCzarny> maybe some xunlong/orange offering?
<paulk-leonov> KotCzarny, I've looked a bit and didn't find any
<KotCzarny> what's a 'csi-2' though?
<paulk-leonov> but maybe I just missed it
<KotCzarny> oh wow, 41.5Mpixel cam
<paulk-leonov> KotCzarny, so you have basically 2 camera interfaces: one is MIPI CSI-1 which is just sync/data RGB/YUV signals and MIPI CSI-2 which is a more complicated and advanced interface
<paulk-leonov> csi-2 is just the interface, it's not a sensor in particular
<KotCzarny> just used to crappy sbc cams
<KotCzarny> that toshiba sensor result for 270eur shot me right in the face
<KotCzarny> i would assume allwinner didnt bother with expensive solutions
<KotCzarny> especialyy that they would have to join mipi alliance
<paulk-leonov> KotCzarny, there is definitely a csi-2 controller since the A31
<paulk-leonov> and I have a V3 board that uses it (F60 Action Camera)
<paulk-leonov> but I'd like a setup with a tested BSP tree for it because I dig into that one
<paulk-leonov> before*
<paulk-leonov> (I don't have any BSP sources for the F60AC)
<KotCzarny> seem vendor specific thing then
<KotCzarny> ie. drivers for particular cam
s_frit has quit [Ping timeout: 268 seconds]
<KotCzarny> i guess just go through cams in camera_list_para_used from default .fex and check which one is csi-2
selfbg has joined #linux-sunxi
<paulk-leonov> KotCzarny, it's a little more efficient to git grep V4L2_MBUS_CSI drivers/media/video/sunxi-vfe/ ;)
<paulk-leonov> git grep V4L2_MBUS_CSI2 drivers/media/video/sunxi-vfe/
<KotCzarny> maybe even drivers/media/video in general
<paulk-leonov> perhaps wens or MoeIcenowy know of a known-to-work csi-2 + board with available bsp trees?
<paulk-leonov> KotCzarny, not really, the vfe driver has its internal sensor driversx
<KotCzarny> sounds like duplicated effort
<paulk-leonov> KotCzarny, that's one of the downsides of downstream bsp trees :)

<MoeIcenowy> paulk-leonov: I think SoChip has an EVB with V3s/S3
<MoeIcenowy> s/an EVB/EVBs/
<KotCzarny> i think he asked specifically about cams that have aw driver in bsp
<MoeIcenowy> I think the EVB come with a cam that works w/ BSP
<KotCzarny> quite a big board
<KotCzarny> but lots of interfaces

<KotCzarny> O.o
<paulk-leonov> seems to have AI-related hw accelerators too
<paulk-leonov> (not that I'll work on these anytime soon though)
<MoeIcenowy> paulk-leonov: the accelerators seem to be hard wired
<paulk-leonov> yeah or at least they seem to be built with specific use cases in mind

<tuxd3v> Hello All,
<tuxd3v> Good Afternoon
<fALSO> yo
<tuxd3v> Hello fALSO
<tuxd3v> :)
<tuxd3v> Have you ever succeded in seeing the uboot shell?
<tuxd3v> using the debug uart?
<tuxd3v> in orange pi one plus?
<jernej> paulk-leonov: Do you have any plan writing driver for deinterlace unit found on SoCs with DE2 and DE3? I couldn't really decipher if that is your plan from the talk last week.
<fALSO> i think yes
<fALSO> i cant have 100% certain
<fALSO> i have to try it again... i recently havent had th etime
<fALSO> changed jobs...
<paulk-leonov> jernej, no formal plan, no, it's more like I have vague interest and might someday do it, but that's the case for literally hundreds of things
<jernej> I could say the same :)
<paulk-leonov> :)

<tuxd3v> doesn any one knows what is the default baudrate for seryal?
<KotCzarny> 115200
<tuxd3v> sunxi-common.h
<tuxd3v> could I be correct: 1500000
<tuxd3v> ?
<fALSO> the value kotczarny said works
<tuxd3v> what I did:
<fALSO> thts what i use
<tuxd3v> dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/mmcblk0 bs=1k count=1023 seek=1
<fALSO> on putty (windoze) or minicom (lunix)
<tuxd3v> dd if=/home/rock64/u-boot-sunxi-with-spl.bin of=/dev/mmcblk0 bs=1024 seek=8
<fALSO> if you follow my guide
<fALSO> it boots
<fALSO> first i clean the beggining of the card (not sure if needed)
<fALSO> dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdX bs=1M count=8
<fALSO> Then i fdisk or cfdisk, i set the first sector of the first partition as 4096
<fALSO> a flash the uboot with: dd if=u-boot-sunxi-with-spl.bin of=/dev/sdX bs=8k seek=1
<fALSO> and
AneoX has joined #linux-sunxi
<tuxd3v> Does I should need to create partition tables and so on, only to be dropped to a uboot shell?
<tuxd3v> just asking maybe that is my problem
<tuxd3v> :(
AneoX_ has quit [Ping timeout: 255 seconds]
<tuxd3v> The first partition starts at 2MB
<fALSO> ahh no
<tuxd3v> 2048 its a vfat
Mr__Anderson has joined #linux-sunxi
<fALSO> tuxd3v, you dont need any vfat with uboot
<fALSO> it can read ext4 and so on...
<tuxd3v> but I don't know if uboot needs anything else to drop to a shell
<tuxd3v> :(
<fALSO> i guess that only flashing uboot to the card should work
shfil has joined #linux-sunxi
<fALSO> i just dont really remember if serial on uboot was working
<fALSO> AHh yes it worked
<fALSO> i remember now
<tuxd3v> I will clean the first section like in your commands
<fALSO> jernej also helped me because it was working randomly
<fALSO> only like at the THIRD time i connected the power jack
<fALSO> :-P
<tuxd3v> yeah
<tuxd3v> I am like crazyy on it
<tuxd3v> I will brake the power jack conector
<tuxd3v> lool
<tuxd3v> so you guys use 115200 has baudrate
<tuxd3v> I will continue trying
<tuxd3v> :D
<fALSO> YES
tnovotny has quit [Quit: Leaving]

<aalm> iirc. 1500000 or whatever is a rockchip(?) thing, rest of the world goes w/115200
<tuxd3v> ha..it could be
<tuxd3v> I own a board with one
<tuxd3v> but its dificult to enter in the shell
clemens3 has quit [Ping timeout: 258 seconds]
<aalm> ?
scelestic has joined #linux-sunxi
<aalm> you mean the u-boot 'shell'?
<tuxd3v> yeah
<aalm> i think there's some option you could select to disable autoboot
<tuxd3v> i think its called autoboot env var
<tuxd3v> but I should enter in uboot shell even with autobooting
<aalm> no, i mean i think there's compile-time option for it too
<tuxd3v> pressing ESC
<aalm> any key
<tuxd3v> yes I understood you :)
<aalm> btw., what do you use locally for the serial connection?
<tuxd3v> I now am with picocom
<tuxd3v> but already used minicom
<tuxd3v> but it laos failed on me
<tuxd3v> :)
<aalm> ah, those are annoying tools:/
<fALSO> just set minicom to ttyUSB0
<fALSO> or soemthing like that
<fALSO> and it works...
<fALSO> just connect power to the board, that it "connects"
<aalm> fwiw., openbsd has amazing cu(1), and it's easy to port wherever needed :]
<fALSO> =) aalm, im also a openbsd fan =)
<fALSO> OpenBSD lemonparty 6.4 GENERIC.MP#0 amd64
<fALSO> /exec -o uname -a
<fALSO> oh yeah =)
<aalm> cool:]
<tuxd3v> cu is nice..
<tuxd3v> :)
<karlp> minicom is dumb and weird, picocom is great and simpel thoug
<megi> also "screen" can be used
<megi> you can detach and re-attach later
<megi> and not lose any logs
s_frit has joined #linux-sunxi
<mru> screen is what I normally use
<aalm> i combine tmux+cu (both written by the same author)
<fALSO> tmux ftw
<mru> there's some _really_ ugly code in screen
<mru> but it's an official gnu project, so that's to be expected

<mru> yes, the features are nice
<mru> the code is still terrible
<fALSO> i also deslike that uptime always reports the current time in am/pm mode
<fALSO> i tried to patch it, but libc doesnt have the times definitions ;-)
<mru> it doesn't here
<mru> probably depends on your locale setting
