<beneroth> [OT] What time is it? Ah, another time node.js/npm-world was completely broken because of a one-line package https://github.com/then/is-promise/issues/13
<beneroth> Regenaxer, naming convention for global transients? Doesn't matter, I would think, just first char upper case when it's a variable
<beneroth> tankf33der, which hashing algorithm would you recommend for file hashing? primarily for integrity checking, though tampering resistance would be welcome.
<beneroth> tankf33der, sha512sum? sha3sum?
<beneroth> I also need to produce hashes for whole directories, I planned to take the hash of each file, prefix it with the filename (renaming is an integrity violation in my use case), and make this list into a single hash (strictly sorted by filename)
<beneroth> any critic on this approach?
<Regenaxer> I'm on a cycling tour, now waiting at the icecream boot. A queue of 50 meters
<Regenaxer> Yeah, I used "*Var" usually
<Regenaxer> but not critical as it is local
<Regenaxer> s/boot/booth
<beneroth> ah thanks :)
