<skuzzymiglet> dnkl: love url launching in foot. saves some clicks :)
<yyp> ^^
<ifreund> it is definitely a nice step up over the pipe-visible solution
<ifreund> I've noticed that river renders the subsurfaces used for the labels under the borders... probably should fix that
<skuzzymiglet> borders of the main surface?
<dnkl> skuzzymiglet: yyp: it turned out better than i had hoped for :)
<ifreund> skuzzymiglet: yeah the borders river renders
<ifreund> I only see it happen with urls in the first row
<skuzzymiglet> I have no borders on windows and huge padding in foot. quick fix :)
<ifreund> heh :D
<leon-p> not sure if treating the main surface and its subsurfaces differently here is a good idea, considering subsurfaces are not intended for popups.
<anthony25> am I the only one to have an issue to build river with the commit to upgrade to wlroots 0.13?
<anthony25> lld complains that some wlr protocols are undefined
<leon-p> can you upload the build log somewhere?
<anthony25> yeah
<ifreund> leon-p: hmm, are subsurfaces intended to be cropped to the dimensions of the main surface?
<ifreund> I seem to recall sway adding implementing something like that recently
<leon-p> ifreund: Not sure, might be undefined, but I am certain that cropping them is not illegal
<leon-p> thats what the XDG-Popup is for, when you want to attach another surface that is not cropped
<anthony25> ha sorry
<anthony25> I'm an idiot
<anthony25> $ pacman -Q wlroots
<anthony25> wlroots 0.12.0-1
<leon-p> well, IRC is good for rubber ducking :D
<anthony25> to be fair the error is not suuuper explicit
<anthony25> but yeah, indeed :p
<dnkl> Foot could (probably should) do a better job at keeping the labels inside its window geometry
<leon-p> or just make those XDG-popups instead of subsurfaces :D
<leon-p> either way, it's a pretty great feature
<dnkl> Yeah, or that :D honestly, the main reason i used sub-surfaces was because the infrastructure was already there in foot
