<ohanar> hey, any uart experts around? I'm making a cable and was wondering if there good guides for setting up the software on the computer side of things - minicom, or there's a way to use screen
<Entropy512>
check beaglebone documentation for using screen as a terminal emulator
<Entropy512>
codeworkx: on I9100?
<Entropy512>
time for sleep
<codeworkx>
Entropy512: yes
<codeworkx>
Entropy512: the 3100 sources are really fuct up
<Entropy512>
oh, in what way?
<codeworkx>
omx and wifi
<codeworkx>
p3110 seems to be better
<codeworkx>
and 3100 and 5100 are same
<Entropy512>
interesting in that wifi is usually built externally, not sure about omx. I know pvr is
<codeworkx>
let's see if wifi works. if yes, we've a nearly complete rom. and i can't run it :-D
<Entropy512>
heh
<Entropy512>
sammy did something to break wifi with the official Note release
<Entropy512>
not sure what yet
<Entropy512>
I9100 drivers don't load, seems like they don't play nice with the new firmware
<Entropy512>
not a CM9 problem but it's useful to be able to hop over to Touchwizz to collect data
<Entropy512>
ok time for sleep

<nizam>

<codeworkx>

<nizam>
i compared my zip and xplodwild build. i couldnt find any missing files... :(
<codeworkx>
nizam: should be same as galaxys2
<codeworkx>
nizam: where did you pull the files from?
<codeworkx>
nizam: make sure to pull from a device running cm9
<nizam>

<codeworkx>

<AdamG->
my thoughts too
<Kaik541>
codeworkx: what device is that? and can I have sex with it?
<codeworkx>
.xres = 1280,
<codeworkx>

<AdamG->
mm maybe another phone then
<Kaik541>
AdamG-: or 7" tablet
<AdamG->
i guess timing isnt right for another phone just yet
<Kaik541>
AdamG-: also, other manufacturers will start to get annoyed at google if they keep partnering nexus phones with just samsung
<Kaik541>
if samsung does a nexus tablet, it'll open two branches of nexus devices for other manufacturer
<Kaik541>
s
<AdamG->
maybe other oems should start making phones half decent then ^_^
<Kaik541>
AdamG-: I always find it funny it seemed no one wanted to race to google's side after the nexus one was a commercial flop
<Kaik541>
but after the nexus s and GNexus have done so well everyone is all pissy about google buying motorola thinking it might be "unfair" to the nexus program
<Kaik541>
samsung was able to combine their marketing and pretty awesome build quality (at least with GNexus) to make a device that really showed off android
<Kaik541>
the nexus one more read like "pretty developer phone" while the gnexus was "here is an awesome device, also google had direct control over it"
<AdamG->
did you see episode of fringe with sprint nexus galaxy in it?
<AdamG->
they demo'd google wallet and made some jibe saying thats how everybody pays for things now ^_^
<Kaik541>
AdamG-: my work has the NFC readers on all the card swipes
<Kaik541>
but they don't work xD
<Kaik541>
when you hold a card or phone up to them an error pops up saying "NFC functionality not configured"
<Kaik541>
wow I never noticed how big the sprint logo was
<Kaik541>
and then he dies and the first reaction is to pick up the phone?

hey, I have an I9000, and I am not getting any signal. I am running the UGKG3 modem, and I believe the issue is that I am in a rural area and the band is 850 MHz. Is there a way to select 850 MHz as my preferred band?
<codeworkx>
Kaik541: ^
<Kaik541>
deper29: samsung service mode?
<stickyboy>
There are 7 Tab 7 Plus users on cm stats. Small victory?
<deper29>
Kaik541, how do I get to that? I am running CM9
<Kaik541>
deper29: same way you do on stock ROM
<Kaik541>
dialer code
<deper29>
Kaik541, I did that and am in the service menu. Is there something in there? I try to select WCDMA 850, and it says menu not exist
<Kaik541>
always worked for me, should work the same as it does on samsung ROM's
<deper29>
darn :/ Because on stock rom I get service, but on cm9 no service. can't seem to figure out. when I am in the city I also get service :S

hm, I just downloaded powertop 2, and it contains an Android.mk file
<whitequark>
but without any building instructions
<whitequark>
could anyone hint me on adding this to buildtree?
<codeworkx>
whitequark: any dir with android.mk in it will be included
<codeworkx>
whitequark: just add it to PRODUCT_PACKAGES
<whitequark>
thanks
<whitequark>
btw, is the sequence of ". build/envsetup.sh && breakfast galaxys2" correct to set up build environment for a phone without instantly building whole tree, or I miss anything?
<codeworkx>
i'm using lunch

but doesn't matter
<whitequark>
hm, make -C external/powertop finished successfully
<whitequark>
but I don't see the target anywhere
<whitequark>
er, not -C
<whitequark>
"make external/powertop"
<whitequark>
ah, it seems to want the "local module name". make powertop works
