<Rebellos>
Dafaq... Why are they removing so tiny things like configs, but cant remove all arch/* except arm, x86 and mm and all arm/machs except used ones, would shrink kernel sources by about half.
<Rebellos>
Or is there any logical reason they aren't doing so?
<ohanar>
the only reason I can see them removing the defconfigs is to make it harder for us
<Rebellos>
Well, I'm cleaning up my sources from unused configs, machs and archs always, faster browsing and searching through.

So many cool opportunities foor destructive mobile worms

The MMC erase capability triggered some bug in moviNAND fw, wasn't it?
<ius>
I'd like to suggest writing trollface ascii to 0x0 of (One)NAND, and then locking it tight

hail samsung
<Entropy512>
<ius> The MMC erase capability triggered some bug in moviNAND fw, wasn't it? - it's not moviNAND on sgs2 devices, it's straight eMMC
<Entropy512>
and yeah, it triggers a bug in VYL00M, MAG4FA, KYL00M fwrev 0x19
<Entropy512>
the N7000 MMC driver is teh suck - in addition to the ERASE shit, they reverted the mainline patch to get access to the boot partitions
<Entropy512>
(which kills TA)

Entropy512: Straight eMMC manufactured by Samsung is moviNAND - it's the brand name. Or used to be at least.
<ius>
And it isn't the first time they screwed up on fw
<Entropy512>
moviNAND is closer to being raw NAND instead of eMMC as far as I can tell
<ius>
My 2010 phone too has Samsung eMMC which is prone to complete failure (ie dead) on sudden power loss
<Entropy512>
sbrissen: yeah, I9100 leaks, official releases, and source are the only safe Exynos kernels
<Entropy512>
siyah 3.1rc6 was a bit of a breakthrough - the first time we discovered source we could look at
<peterperfect>
curious why this bug was only introduced after i9100 releases
<ius>
Entropy512: No, moviNAND too has a mmc interface - it's eMMC. Apparently Samsung decided to relabel it to 'eMMC' now, can't find a trace of it anymore

Entropy512 thats a bunch of asus tf300t that cant get ota updates or use bootloader unlocker
<peterperfect>
im one of the lucky bastard
<Entropy512>
that's probably a fucked bootloader that isn't quite unlockable
<Entropy512>
reasons why anti-tamper has no business in a consumer device... false positives
<peterperfect>
Entropy512 i doesnt seems so...its seems to be serial related...when you ask for OTA he says that is no update avaiable and when trying to use bootloader unlocker the app reports that there is a connection problem
<Entropy512>
in short, they blacklisted a bunch of serials accidentally
