<dragonn>
rellla, Hi! I was busy last with exams, but now I am back. Did you remeber my problem with some lag playing videos on xbmc, I think I know where the problem is, xbmc doesn't detect the fps rate right for some videos
<dragonn>
Check this:
<FR^2>
cubieboard2 up and running, networking _working_ continuously (in contrast to the raspberry pi)
<dragonn>
The first two videos play lagy, the last one runs fine
ykchavan has quit [Quit: Leaving]
<rellla>
dragonn: do you have a mediainfo for this files? but ( 1312499997 / 54687499 )= 24?
<rellla>
i don't think that framerate is detected wrong. fpsrate and fpsscale is detected by xbmc's CDVDStreamInfo. there is no other handling in xbmca10.
<dragonn>
rellla, with way is the best for get an usefull media info about that files?
<dragonn>
rellla, http://pastebin.com/fie69ig9 her are the media info of the 3 files, the first two plays lagy, the last one works without problems
<rellla>
do you use the native libcedarx.so or via libhybris?
<rellla>
sry. libvecore.so
<dragonn>
libhybris, on native it play lagy too and I get lots of artifacts
<dragonn>
On libhybris it is still lagy but without artifacts
<rellla>
the artifacts should be caused by the weightp=2 !?
<dragonn>
On VLC with libhybris all of the videos runs fine. Hmm maybe but this can be fixed by using libhybris, so that is no problems
<dragonn>
The point is - I will use may cubie as DVB-T tuner, and on some programs I get this problem too (that with lagy playing), and I can not redecode an live stream
<rellla>
there is some adjust framerate setting in xbmc. have you played with it?
<rellla>
i have problems with dvb-s2 in 1080i btw.
<dragonn>
I had problems with 1080i too, enabling plot disabling helps me as I remeber
<dragonn>
Where are the settings? I have search some thing like this and can not found it
<rellla>
there is a setting "adjust refreshrate to video framerate" or something like that in video settings iirc
<rellla>
so if it plays fine in vlc, it surely is a xbmc issue and not cedarx ;) puh.
<dragonn>
If it would play laggy in vlc too I don't would search for a way to fix it :P
<dragonn>
I have tested this option, but doesn't change nothing
<FR^2>
Is there a way to root the pre-installed android?
<Bushmills>
isn't it already?
<Bushmills>
hm,, thinking of it .. i think i had to install superuser app for su binary, and supersu wouldn't work
<Bushmills>
but i may confuse machines
<FR^2>
Ah, of course!
<FR^2>
I'll try that, thanks :)

dragonn: can you upload some snippets of the files?
<dragonn>
sure, give me a few seconds I will split it with mkvmerge
<rellla>
we need some people, that dig in xbmc code and improve it btw ...
<rellla>
and btw what is "plot disabling"?
<adept>
who tested it cubieboard a20?
<FR^2>
I've got a cubieboard A20 since yesterday ;) What exactly do you want to test?
<dragonn>
Ok, I will add it, and give me a few min I will test it

rellla, I have tested your video, it is laggy like the videos with I have problem too, just a lite more then me, but the problem looks excatly like mine because the video runs fine on vlc...

i think you can bin2fex, edit the mac, and fex2bin again
<FR^2>
Hmm. Never heard of. Thanks, I'll look that up :)
<Bushmills>
/boot/script.bin ought to have the MAC
<FR^2>
thx.
<FR^2>
I would never have found that info :)
<Bushmills>
sure you would
<FR^2>
What key should I search for or rather where can I read up about that?
<FR^2>
Well, at least I found the sunxi-tools :)
<Bushmills>
not sure. MAC in my script.bin is in [dynamic] section, and actually matches the MAC as reported by arp
<Bushmills>
that's promising :)
<Bushmills>
to make those tools, you'll need pkg-config and usb dev libs, apart from build-essential
<FR^2>
already successfully compiled and converted the script.bin

I'm not very experienced concerning debian, those embedded devices like raspberry pi (3x), cubieboard (A20, one)
<Bushmills>
oh well, cloning a git rep is pretty distribution unspecific
<FR^2>
sure.

<FR^2>
But gathering the information about cubieboard is a bit hard for me. I'm lazy and information is rather unstructured. Of course, raspberry pi has a far bigger community (yet!) :)
<FR^2>
And those things like bin2fex and vice versa... erm.. never heard of. So this is a totally new world for me, most of the time at least :)
<Bushmills>
yes, would be easier if bootloader could parse text file directly
<Bushmills>
i only found out recently about those tools myself
<FR^2>
okay, that give me hope :)
<Bushmills>
i'm a rather unstructured data gatherer and collector myself, trying to stash away tidbits of information in case i eventually need them again
<Bushmills>
and awaiting the moment where those can be integrated to form the bigger picture

oh. ever noticed a strange contraption in the university there, involving some mobility device and an immersive projection of one or another city to walk/drive/ride through?
<FR^2>
not sure what you mean
<Bushmills>
something called "legible city"
<FR^2>
Hmm.
<Bushmills>
sort of a historic cyberspace
<Bushmills>
was put together around 1990
<FR^2>
I've been round the campus a few times, but not at every place there. So I rather don't know what you mean.
<Bushmills>
i'm not sure whether it's still there. it was more than a decade ago
<FR^2>
There are a few artifical vulcanoes, some parts of industry machines, a huge drive shaft and such things.
<FR^2>
Could be, I've been living here "just" for the last five years.
<FR^2>
okay, my try of adding [dynamic] and an entry for the key MAC and afterwards using fex2bin to overwrite /boot/script.bin didn't succeed in fixating the mac address.
<FR^2>
Bushmills: Must have been before I moved here, I guess. Although I have to admit that I don't know the whole city yet, but I'm working on that :)
<FR^2>
Ah, in the ZKM, then it certainly isn't on show anymore.
