as i said, it's a workaround only. not a fix. it doesn't solve the problem at the basics :(
<utente_>
rellla, better a workaround thatn nothing at all. Unfortunatyrly is still present the audio noise, it seems a "flying elicopter" sound.
<utente_>
so the audio is unusable , i must silence it moving output to analog.
<utente_>
i removed all related to mesa
<utente_>
btw, now i try to logout from xbmc and cb freezed :(
<utente_>
any idea how to solve audio bug?
<utente_>
maybe it is because i recompiled kernel by myself and it did not set all correctly? in youtube and gmplayer audio works well

wait, cb didt freeze: it is xbmc to freeze! i log out, but therre is not display refresh. i must do crtl-alt-f1 and ctrl-alt-f7 to force refrest adn clean the display.
<lawrence88>
offtopic - got my leap motion. if it worked reliably would be good. extremely intermittent though for finger detection ;(

after i get out from xbmc, lxde appears "strange". mouse move from white to black color, the menu has blac background. seems that xbmc didt reset proprer colors when logout.
<utente_>
to summarize, it seems that all was white move to black.
<utente_>
and all was black, stay black (ie the background of lxterminal)

in my kernel configuration (menuconfig) under audio menu, alsa for socaudio support , the option 'build all SoC codec drivers' is disabled. cpould be this the problem related to my audio bug in xbmc? someone that have xbmc runnig a good audio can give me his .config?

utente_: regarding audio: sun4i_defconfig should work. you tried to disable the option for ac3 capable receiver in xbmc/settings already? as every other player works, i don't think it's a kernel issue. iirc, my xbmc is using alsa
<rellla>
utente_: for all the other color/freezing issues: it is necessary, that anyone with enough skills looks into the code whats wrong with initializing/closing display as this port does it.
<rellla>
btw. xserver is not needed for xbmc. try disabling it temporary.

iirc audio output: hdmi, output to all speakers: enabled, all *capables*: disabled, device: sun4i_snd_hdmi or something like this, passthrough: disabled?
<rellla>
i think, here on my xbmc it is configured that way.

not sure if the cross distrib would of have worked, it was just out of sync at the time i decided to try the build

GCC 3.3 or thereabouts?

no idea, tbh. :D

Well, I looked at GCC 4.3 or thereabouts a long time ago (when it was current, I guess), and it was producing about twice as many instructions as were required for simple operations.

It was basically transliterated x86 code.

to put it shortly
<aalm>
timers+interrupts are done and working as far as i can tell
<aalm>
and ofc most of the distrib make-work copypasting from beagle
<aalm>
is to be done
<aalm>
for CB2, i'm going to add back the pluggable int controller support from beagle which i removed while trying to figure out things :D
<aalm>
then i'll look at gic from freebsd
<aalm>
or bitrig
<aalm>
i think they have the code for it too

from there idk, i hope someone else does the rest with arch/beagle
