<Erkan_Yilmaz> Mercosity: you could add the version number of your wallet
<Peppernrino> i am on the verge of some great shit.
<Erkan_Yilmaz> 2. did thi sbehaviour with diaghappen in older wallet versions ?
<Peppernrino> and useful. hopefully easily repeatable once setup.
<Mercosity> Erkan_Yilmaz: Good idea I'll do that. Any ther comments?
<Mercosity> *o
<Peppernrino> you running windows mercosity?
<Mercosity> Erkan_Yilmaz: Never used any other version.
<Mercosity> Peppernrino: yes I am
<Erkan_Yilmaz> so, the diag always was like that ?

<Erkan_Yilmaz> "The wallet, from my limited knowledge seems to be running correctly" <- I' expect from this statement:
<Erkan_Yilmaz> 1. you you get por blocks
<Erkan_Yilmaz> 2. the money from pool-mining reaches your wallet also
<Erkan_Yilmaz> what does list cpids output ?
<Mercosity> Erkan_Yilmaz: No, I checked it and it passed so I left it alone. Then a few days later I checked again and it failed.
<Erkan_Yilmaz> ok, that would be good as info to add
<Peppernrino> every
<Peppernrino> fucking
<Peppernrino> time
<Peppernrino> i remove cmdprompt, i need it like a day later
<Peppernrino> lolol
<Mercosity> Erkan_Yilmaz: I don't know if I'm getting anything from the pool. How would I know.
<Erkan_Yilmaz> when you pool mine, you add your GRC address there
<Erkan_Yilmaz> and then like in 2 week intervall you get money to that adress
<Mercosity> That would be the address in GridCoin.co Pool?
<apc> mercosity, you should take your GRC and go buy a new keyboard :P
radurock has joined #gridcoin
<Erkan_Yilmaz> well, somewhere on your profile page there's a field for that

<Peppernrino> holy shit
<Peppernrino> i think i did it!
<Peppernrino> :D
<Peppernrino> testing.
<Mercosity> Erkan_Yilmaz: Yes the addresses tie p but not seen anything thru from pool yet.
<Mercosity> *u
<mrtrousers> really?
<Erkan_Yilmaz> since when are you pool mining ?
<Erkan_Yilmaz> if <2 weeks, it is ok
<Mercosity> Need air to blow the shit out of this keyboard. Perhaps I fart on it.
<Erkan_Yilmaz> yay, Peppernrino
<Peppernrino> ahem
<Peppernrino> let me just back up my wallet first...
<Peppernrino> hm. nope.
<Peppernrino> it looks right. but doesn't extract properly. yet.

<Mercosity> Erkan_Yilmaz: Ok. I checked my transactions and I have recieved payments from the pool I had the fore thought to name the address gridcoin Pool.
<Erkan_Yilmaz> good then
<Erkan_Yilmaz> so, you could add the 2 points above as "proof" about "running correctly"
<Mercosity> Erkan_Yilmaz: Ok. Sorry, getting old and senile and forget things, Ha Ha!

<jamezz> heh , ya I got lets see my win 10 desktop , this laptop , 2 tablets a dual core and a quad core along with dual core phone = 8 arm cores , 3 amd boxes in the living room , my silver mac pro tower , 2 x quad core cpu external vps's , 2 single core external vps's and 1 windows 2008 vps so i feel ya
<jamezz> and i do too
<jamezz> even say that same quad core xeon vps's like different cpu projects more than each other
<jamezz> and the single core linux vps and win 2008 server is because I read that windows crunches faster atleast with cloud vps's so they are running the same project for a week
<jamezz> i am loving the 8 cores and 8gb of ram google gives but the $300/60days going to run fast i have a month left... and will lose 8 cpu cores
<jamezz> but I am adding a few 1u servers in a local DC i have rack space in to run to replace them , with gpu's too and I turned my business partner onto GRC so that expands my abilitys of machines almost unlimted... we have a stock of dell 1950 and 2950s , xeon procs and lots of ram... dude gets high end servers as they pull them from work... NAS/SANS etc... hell they gave him a sunfire sun microsystems sun fire t2000 i want
<jamezz> im like you , from the hardware you told me in PM!
<Mercosity> jamezz: Got ya. I must admit I'm getting bored now as I have my todo routine running well so I'm loking for another challenge or 2. Gotta try and crunch with my old DEC Alpha Tru64bit RISC server, that'll be a challenge if I can get taht to work. It runs Win NT server over VMS.
<jamezz> look see what i just said

<jamezz> yes
<jamezz> remember I had 1
<jamezz> along with a dual mips r4400 running nt3.51

<jamezz> oh and mips
<jamezz> heh
<Mercosity> jamezz: A blast from the past.
<jamezz> you might be so lucky to get it to work
<jamezz> MIGHT
<jamezz> not linux or their OS
<jamezz> heh
<jamezz> run into the same issue as i do with my mac
<jamezz> it would probably be as if i installed OSX back on my mac when it comes to windows on an alpha too... because its not x86
<jamezz> so i wouldnt even waste my time
<jamezz> if i went OSX on my mac it would most likely say not intel cpu and not crunch and thats why I hate mac these days
<Mercosity> jamezz: Don't see why not. As long as I can get it to sit behind a firewall. Might connect to 2nd network card on my server and connect to broadband/run it that way.
<jamezz> because when it bench marks the CPU and ID's it
<jamezz> its not x86 or amd64 or arm7
<jamezz> its not a supported CPU
<jamezz> for example . you cant run period_search_10210_windows_x86_64__sse3.exe on it

<Mercosity> jamezz; Takes time. I've so many expansion projects in mind as well to add to my server as it has 8 PCI-E x4 slots begging to be used.
<slimeball> nice , i am going to pick up some usb to pci-e adapters
<slimeball> after seeing customminer GRC porn
<slimeball> have you seen it?
<Mercosity> jamezz; No. You gotta link?
<customminer> Extra points if you can spot the fire hazard in the pic.
<slimeball> i just googled " gridcoin mining porn custominer "
<customminer> Hint: top rig.
<fediverse> moin, beautiful GRC world. Do you know what's happening with ATLAS@Home ?
<slimeball> overloaded
<slimeball> power
<slimeball> did wires melt?
<customminer> They didn't, but that's the fire hazard.
<Mercosity> Jeez, Wood!
<slimeball> im looking at your bundles of wires... so you did 2 PSU's in series ?
<slimeball> er
<slimeball> parralel i mean
<slimeball> sorry
<customminer> The riser cards have molex connectors which weren't rated high enough for the power going through them. Had to switch them out,
<customminer> Yeah, two psus working together.
<slimeball> that is why my MSI board fried , not rated for this 9590
<customminer> Mercosity: it takes a lot to set wood alight
<slimeball> without me searching google , did you need any diodes ?
<slimeball> or just strait wire for wire parralel?
<customminer> I used a psu joining board
<customminer> Cost like a tenner
<slimeball> ahh ok , ya just diodes to protect backfeeding voltage between PSU's
<slimeball> I love that you used opterons
<apc> weasel got into their wiring again
<customminer> The opterons are quite capable and cheap
<Mercosity> I'm Jealous and Gob Smacked!
<slimeball> my last few boxes before i moved back to seattle from phoenix was an HP Workstation xw8200 with dual xeon 3.4ghz so 4 cores.. back 2011'ish... and before that dual opteron 244's
<slimeball> id love to go back , but I <3 this box and when I retire it it goes on the wall
<slimeball> Mercosity , you are not the only one
<slimeball> i love that pic
<slimeball> shows he is a serious customminer!

<mrtrousers> What os do you run?
<NewDolf> Win 10
<mrtrousers> What kind of setup do you want?
<mrtrousers> Just on your computer?
<NewDolf> I'd really like for the wallet to work.
<mrtrousers> Just wallet or boinc too?
<customminer> How isn't it working?
<NewDolf> You know, like grab the credits and issue GRC.
<NewDolf> BOINC seems to be working fine and cranking out credits.
<mrtrousers> Have you already installed the wallet?
<NewDolf> Sadly, I have installed the wallet. Again, even...
<mrtrousers> Have you synced it?
<NewDolf> no
<mrtrousers> Edited the config file?

<NewDolf> yes
<mrtrousers> with the same email as your boinc projects?
<NewDolf> yes
<mrtrousers> Have you let it run for 36 hours?

<mrtrousers> Totally..
<NewDolf> I usually turn it off daily. Is that wrong?
<customminer> Why did you wait 2 months before getting help?
<mrtrousers> Have you used the snapshot to sync?
<NewDolf> no snapshot

<customminer> Are you running the latest version?

<YugoEliatrop> Combined2857: Not to get to technical, Gridcoin is a Proof of Research + Proof Of Stake network. PoR is what the pool does for you now. PoS is what you read about there. Keeping your wallet open will give you a "chance" to stake a new PoS block. This is how you get a small intrest on your coins. So yes, the more you keep your wallet open the bigger chance of a success to stake a new intrest block for
<NewDolf> I've got about a third done but is still estimates nearly 30 minutes.

<Combined2857> irc is almost 0 bandwidth
<Combined2857> YugoEliatrop: but this is only to get lucky, build a new block and get some GRC, nothing related to mining right ?
<Combined2857> I can mine without having my wallet open
<YugoEliatrop> Combined2857: But as it is currently you will need a big amount of coins to make a PoS block. The more coins you have the bigger the chance also. Nothing you have to think on really.
<YugoEliatrop> Combined2857: Yes, you only need to run the wallet to update it to see your balance from the pool.
<Combined2857> YugoEliatrop: big amount of coins is roughlt how many ? >50 ? >1000 ?
<YugoEliatrop> 394950 GRC to make sure you stake atlast once a day :)

<customminer> Right click your time in the bottom right, navigate to time servers and sync with your time server.
<YugoEliatrop> Nycti: I don't know much about Tor/Onion routers, but the wallet has a SOCKS proxy setting that you could use?
<NewDolf> I wasn't able to go to NIST. I'll try the right click.
<Nycti> YugoEliatrop: my wallet connects with out a hitch, just woundering if it wuld help with by passing ISP. I will give it a go at some stage, just to find out.

<customminer> NewDolf: don't change that, simply sync your computer time with the time servers

<NewDolf> I bought this computer used and it was probably a business computer before. I'll have to figure it out.
<customminer> OK, so pick a different time server, there should be a list.
<NewDolf> Looks like you might have uncovered a hidden problem. I'd never have thought about that problem.
<customminer> If it was a business computer before and you've not installed a new os then their settings may be messing with the Gridcoin client connections.

<NeuralMiner> customminer, i'm used to TFS-SC, so git is new to me. anyway. i would think the best way to do it is every time you load the apache container, it pulls its configs from git. that's what you're looking for, correct?
<customminer> yeah, but I think maybe I could intercept the BOINC git repo reference in https://github.com/marius311/boot2docker
<customminer> perhaps?
<NeuralMiner> that MIGHT be already in the preconfigured mysql/apache container. i dont see where it pulls it from the boinc repo.

<Mercosity> So to clarify - You start BOINC and you get message wrong email or password
<NoBad> The reinstall wasn't recommended. I corrupted it by "end task" in Task Manager while it was loading.
<NoBad> It wouldn't start after that.
<NoBad> I get lots of messages scrolling on the black screen. That's just the last one on the list.
<Mercosity> ok did you have any credit on the wallet, and are you crunching any projects according to your BOINC Manager project page?
<NoBad> Had ~300k credits. No sign of any in the wallet.
<Mercosity> ok
<NoBad> Sometimes I'd get as much as INVESTOR but most time not even that.
<NoBad> I haven't tried to crunch since the reinstall. I'll try that now.

<HViD> whats with the poll in the wallet? Remove_WuProp_from_whitelist ?
<HViD> yes, no, maybe?
<Open-Laptop> Optional, it's just the current poll
<apc> you can only vote if your holding predates the poll. which mine doesn't so yours probably not either. removes the project from the whitelist as there's been someone cheating credit
<PenumbraDuFromag> !usd
<KatBot> GridCoin.co: $1 USD = 171.32349722 GRC (USD -> BTC -> GRC)

<HViD> when I do the Diagnostics in the wallet, there are some things I don't understand. "Find CPID" does not match the cpid on the front page of the wallet. Is this ok? And my cpid is not part of team gridcoin - how do I fix this?
<apc> beyond my knowledge
<mrtrousers> YOushould join team gridcoin in the home page project
<HViD> but how?
<HViD> my boinc-client says "Team: Gridcoin"
<HViD> but Diagnostics in the wallet says I'm not a member
<apc> is this after your week or have you changed things?
<HViD> it was the same before the vacation

<HViD> although I didnt even have a cpid prior to the vacation so got other errors as well then
<apc> didn't you say you're in the pool and solo? I don't know the specifics but I know the wallet doesn't like that

<HViD> so maybe I should just skip the pool now
<apc> yeah I stopped the pool pretty quick but I have several systems crunching. payment frequency preference I gather is the big reasoning
