hsanjuan: raw notes from trying out cluster https://github.com/ipfs/ipfs-cluster/issues/14 -- im excited to run it to track all my pins! it worked! \o/ -- lots of very rough edges still, but it's pretty sweet! the basic construction is there and appears to be working! \o/ (you already demoed it working, but this is another person confirming it, which is
<jbenet>
always good to hear for a developer) \o/

how can I see what is the name of a file pointed by an hash in my repo?
<dileep>
i rebooted my server now when i type ipfs init i get error
<dileep>
Error: ipfs configuration file already exists! Reinitializing would overwrite your keys
<dileep>
what should i do
<victorbjelkholm>
alu, took a look at the links you sent me yesterday, cool stuff, gonna put together a PirateBox when coming back to Barcelona and also get some IPFS deployments in Guifi
<victorbjelkholm>
so thanks for the conversation :)
<victorbjelkholm>
dileep, I would recommend you reading through the "Getting Started" on ipfs.io, it walks through in practical terms with how to use IPFS. Currently, you're trying to initialize a repo that have already been initialized

can you suggest me which database to use for web apps
<Kubuxu>
Caterpillar: trying it right now
<Caterpillar>
Kubuxu: from nload command I can see an average of 8 Mbit/s of upload
<Kubuxu>
I am getting about 1.23MiB/s output
<Kubuxu>
what is the source?
<Kubuxu>
is it a server?
sunclx[m] has left #ipfs ["User left"]
<Caterpillar>
Kubuxu: source? yes a my personal server with 100 Mbit/s upload bandwitdh
<Kubuxu>
kk
<Caterpillar>
Kubuxu: now the upload is ~100kbit/s
<Kubuxu>
yeah, I killed it on my side
<Caterpillar>
Kubuxu: so your download speed was ~1,23 MegaBYTE/s right?
<Caterpillar>
if yes the problem seem to be fixed

Close to 8Megabytes/s on my PC

Kubuxu: I started the virtual machine to reproduce the test I made yesterday: using command ipfs get /ipfs/QmSKkrwTYRA13Cq32eGn2Yv8uL7rc9jnXeuxDFng3MBrNs/Fedora-KDE-Live-x86_64-25-1.3.iso I get low bandwidth and the explanation has to be that the VM is behind a NAT and this ruins even the download user experience
<Kubuxu>
interesting
<Kubuxu>
it shouldn't :\
<Caterpillar>
Kubuxu: could you please try with the same command?
<kumavis[m]1>
jbenet lgierth: thought of a minimal change that would allow us to continue resolution on data with a different resolver
<kumavis[m]1>
if we have a type of cid/multihash that allows inline data
<kumavis[m]1>
<cid version><ipld format><hashtype: raw data><raw data>
<kumavis[m]1>
bit of a hack
<kumavis[m]1>
but it would allow us to return a blob of typed data which would then be resolved as if it were a hashlink
<kumavis[m]1>
this would impact our assumptions of cid size
santamanno has quit [Quit: santamanno]
santamanno has joined #ipfs
<kumavis[m]1>
so instead of the cid containing the hash of data to be fetched from the network, it contains the raw data inline
<kumavis[m]1>
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
