SQLite depends on the underlying filesystem to do locking as the documentation says it will. But some filesystems contain bugs in their locking logic such that the locks do not always behave as advertised. This is especially true of network filesystems and NFS in particular. If SQLite is used on a filesystem where the locking primitives contain bugs, and if two or more threads or processes try to access the same database at the same time,

then database corruption might result.
<|Jeroen|>
yeah i also used it quite successfull for some years
<|Jeroen|>
but since libreelec i gave up after quite some corrupted configs
<|Jeroen|>
maby it depends on nfs versions
<|Jeroen|>
and i guess netboot with samba isn't supported yet

I didn't noticed any corruption. But I'm not heavy user.

well my vote is to put a descent abstract db layer in kodi, so we can use mysql of postresql for all data

ugh. database abstraction leads to the LCD of all supported engines' features being used, and N-1 supported systems being supported worse than "the unofficially chosen one" implementation.
<|Jeroen|>
well library already has mysql support so

can't access samba shares on my freshly clean-installed libreelec 9.0.0 on my raspi3
<lacrimosa>
the shares are on my windows PC
tuxiano has joined #libreelec
<lacrimosa>
I can access the device via putty, if helpful
<lacrimosa>
if I add new sources, I put in \\IP\Folder name\
<lacrimosa>
and "Folder name" is of course shared in Windows
<lacrimosa>
so it should work, but it doesn't O.o

that's really strange: if I try to browse to my folders via samba from libreelec and I chose "Windows network (SMB)" it shows MYGROUP and WORKGROUP
<lacrimosa>
if I click on MYGROUP a popup appears which has "error" in the top line and in text it has "success" or "File exists"
<lacrimosa>
strange
