<bkeys>
I want to play n64 games and watch media with it
<mack->
it's what powers the Games section of kodi. not an addon.
<bkeys>
Oh, so it's there by default?
<bkeys>
I'm using a cubox so I think I'll only be able to have 8.2.5
<mack->
only added in LE 9. And mostly half added, so not many people are using it :)
<mack->
you might be looking for Lakka or something, if you're looking for games with media on the side.
<bkeys>
Yeah but the Lakka image doesn't like my cubox, that and if I had to pick only 1 I'd pick movies, I have other machines that can emulate stuff
<bkeys>
Worst case scenario I do some kind of hackery and set the cubox up with armbian, and set up kodi on my own with emulators I set up manually

I think custom armbian set up is the only way to achieve what I want

Hello. Is there a way to sync two libreelec instances, without resorting to having a shared MySQL on the LAN? I was hoping to find something like hosting the sqlite DBs on the NAS next to the actual media, but doesn't look like it's being done.

<chewitt>
if sync is the goal .. we have rsync in one of the 'tools' addons and you can literally sync the files, but DB states aren't guaranteed and IMHO at some point it will fcuk up on you
<chewitt>
the 'supported' options are mysql or mariadb :)
<chewitt>
depend on which theology your NAS follows
<Alver>
Mmh. I don't like MySQL or its offspring - nasty pieces of software.
<chewitt>
in that case your choices are very limited
<Alver>
Seems so. :)
<chewitt>
fwiw .. a large percentage of the LE/Kodi teams run MySQL/MariaDB setups so it's fairly well proven
<Alver>
If I have the time I'll take a look at what would be needed to be able to host the sqlite files themselves on a NAS. It's technically easy enough, but a lot depends on how clingy the software is to its DB files.
<Alver>
chewitt: I know, I've had it for god knows how long too. But it's a rubbish database, and I don't like to install a rubbish database server just for two mediacenters (from which one will only rarely be used) :-)

"if it works, don't fix it"
<Alver>
I hear that a lot. Usually from people on a Windows 7 or older desktop. ;)
<Alver>
But fair enough. I'll just do a one-time sync to start and I'll see how it goes from there.
<chewitt>
if rate of change is low and you don't really care about save-states, one-way sync from most-used to less-used device is workable
<Alver>
Should be, yes.
<Alver>
On the other hand, having thumbnails/subtitles etc shared would also not be bad... hm
<chewitt>
or experiment with UPnP .. although that's not exactly the most proven part of Kodi's codebase
<Alver>
Oh, bah, no. :D
<Alver>
Heh, restoring a backup from the other box gives... interesting... results
<Alver>
All seems to be there, but the wired internet is gone. Can't even configure it
<Alver>
.. oh, nevermind. PEBKAC.
<Alver>
Great! All seems to work just fine. :)
<Alver>
And 2160p 10bit HEVC, smooth as a baby's bottom
<Alver>
Great work guys. Thanks for making this thing happening. :)
