hi, I'm trying to find out some hints about making wifi working on rpi 4
<lolek>
right now I have the standard problem Network Input/Output error
<lolek>
in the logs I saw info about dbus error (odd)
<lolek>
I've tried adding that cfg80111.conf
<lolek>
no luck
<lolek>
changing channel to 10 is not an option - wifi 5GHz here
emOne has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<lolek>
using wire for long term also not an option
andy-burns has quit [Ping timeout: 268 seconds]
<mack->
lolek: since lots of people are using Pi4 and wifi, my suspicion would be something with your environment. Low RF signal quality due to obstruction or interference (5 GHz has channels, too, btw), power fluctuation, other device driver interaction, etc.
<lolek>
mack-: nope... I've checked and it works fine on raspbian
<lolek>
only libreelec has problems
<lolek>
and based on my findings on the network it's quite common problem for libreelec
<lolek>
mack-: so in my opinion it's a bug in libreelec

<mack->
I'd say file the bug and help a developer duplicate the problem
<mack->
assuming you've got updated firmware for the Pi4. Not sure if update is in LE UI now. I don't have a Pi4
<mack->
I don't envy the devs trying to get Pi to work well :)
<mack->
for things like "No fix yet for problems with WLAN if you use 4k output". Quality device :)
<mack->
so, lolek, are you outputting 4k resolution?
<lolek>
I don't have 4k display neither I have 4k sources
<lolek>
so no I don't output 4k
<lolek>
in fact I output HD
<lolek>
but I don't know what it has to do with not working wifi
<mack->
it has to do with cheap hardware cutting corners
<lolek>
mack-: not sure if you read but I've mentioned that there's no problem with raspbian on the same hw in the same physical location,
<lolek>
signal strength is around 70%
<lolek>
so no it's not my location
<lolek>
it's not channels
<lolek>
it's not display output
<lolek>
it's not interference with anything
<lolek>
it's just broken wifi support in libreelec
<mack->
you've run kodi on raspbian and played content?
<lolek>
I've run raspbian and setup wifi connection
<mack->
ie, loaded the system
<lolek>
it worked
<lolek>
then I've installed libreelec
<lolek>
wifi doesn't work
<lolek>
and as I said I've searched through the network for some hints the the only hints I've found were some trolls replies to use cable instead of wifi
<mack->
then add it to the dozens of bugs already in the bug reporting section of the forum
