Can Kodi, via cec, turn off the TV, when it times out, and turn it back on when it wakes? it is suspending and leaving me with a bright blue screen

shut off? via cec? you need to go into the peripherals menu in Kodi to adjust the CEC settings (if available)

lrusak, i found the CEC in input perferials. I was looking in display. but it does not have an option for display off when kodi sleeps

instead you can just turn on screen blanking in powermanagement

settings -> system -> power savings -> put display to sleep when idle
