<dan64B> hi, anyone up for a quick question? I got suck following instructions here, let's say I have CMDLINE= ... mtdparts=rk29xxnand:0x00002000@0x00002000(uboot),0x00002000@0x00004000(misc),0x00008000@0x00006000(kernel),0x00010000@0x0000e000(boot),
<dan64B> my kernel.img is ~4MB does size in 0x00008000@0x00006000(kernel) need to be changed to 4MB (to match actual kernel.img size)?
<dan64B> ?
<dan64B> hmm...0x8000 is number of sectors, hence, there is plenty of space, I guess I answered my own question, it helps talking with someone....thanks :)

<jas-hacks> naobsd, thanks for the update on chromeos r5p0 will give it a try
<jas-hacks> From what I can gather chromium devs are compiling there own version of x11 driver (using Mali DDK) in a private repo because it requires a chrome extension eglGetSyncValuesCHROMIUM.
RaYmAn_ is now known as RaYmAn
<mmind00> jas-hacks: isn't it more that it provides an egl chrome extension?
field^Mop has joined #linux-rockchip
<jas-hacks> mmind00: yes it provides egl/gles api plus the added extension, however I don't think the extension does much in mali driver because it required for Intel.
<jas-hacks> mmind00: BTW nice work in the VGA driver
<mmind00> jas-hacks: thanks :-) ... lets hope somebody has time to review it during the 3.20 cycle

<mmind00> jas-hacks: I'm currently trying to determine how this all fits together (xf86-video-armsoc [new one] + libdrm + mali + drm-kernel parts) ... and currently the mali integration binaries are drawing red and green stuff on the background of my xserver but still reporting errors

<jas-hacks> mmind00: I have it working but using the chromeos xf86-video-armsoc
<jas-hacks> mmind00: whats the error?
<mmind00> jas-hacks: nice - what kernel are you using? ChromeOS-Kernel, mainline or something else?
<mmind00> jas-hacks: oh and did you do something to the chromeos xf86-video-armsoc because when I tried in the past it didn't want to compile at all (needing older xorg or so)

<jas-hacks> mmind00: I'll try to post some instructions because its all WIP

<naobsd> jas-hacks: oh chrome extension... I see, then we need to wait more generic ver. from ARM/Rockchip/Firefly

<naobsd> jas-hacks: about VSYNC, your benchmark result was nearly 60fps so I guessed it's just vsync rate. but I could be wrong.
<mmind00> naobsd: no we probably don't need to wait ... i.e. the mali lib simply implements a new egl extension that chromeos-apps need
<mmind00> naobsd: regular applications simply won't use it
<naobsd> jas-hacks: you may know many people on forum expect too much things e.g. fully working and easy-to-install (single click) image :)
<naobsd> mmind00: oh. sorry... my knowledge is very limited.
<naobsd> I thought libmali _want_ external lib in chromium os
<mmind00> naobsd: np ... I'm also still working on understanding how this all fits together :-)
<jas-hacks> chromeos mali lib will work against xorg
<jas-hacks> naobsd: I don't think hdmi driver has a VSYNC signal however VGA may have one (haven't looked at the code).

<mmind00> btw. it looks like my gles problems came in part from the programs I used to test until now (mali_*_integretion_suite from the driver package and openmorrowind (ogre -> egl)) ... es2gears, es2_info and es2tri seem to produce meaningful results :-)
