<libv>
i intend to do the same for 2 other 7" formats, the one with the 3 real buttons on the front and the one with the 3 capacitive buttons on the front
<libv>
not sure what i should name those formats yet though

libv: that cheap tablet factory from the other day, is clear that they want to reach more audience, what about asking then this form formats
<libv>
because those two other formats were only sold in 2011-2012
<libv>
i am going to call one A7
<libv>
as most of the boards seem to start with that

libv: but still wouldn't be good to contact them to make aware of us, they what to sell tablets, and our wiki could be a place to put details of what they are selling
<nove>
no?
<plaes>
I think that they won't probably bother to do that.. :S
<nove>
plaes: did you seethe videos, they are really trying to reach non-china, with bad english but still trying
<plaes>
the video where one guy basically walks the whole assembly line?
leviathanch has joined #linux-sunxi
<nove>
yes and others
<hramrach>
hello
<hramrach>
what videos?
<hramrach>
might be nice to see how Chinese pretend to make tablets
<nove>
as example they give table model ZXS-A23 9 inch, but searching for that gives no results
<hramrach>
also note how the thing you pin photos to has very few photos pinned
<hramrach>
waste of space .. in China, yeah right
<plaes>
~40s ?
<plaes>
at 55seconds
<hramrach>
yeah, there
<plaes>
"..., no problem!" :)
<hramrach>
the fans ..

do you think that even Chinese have work condition regulations so they have to put the fans there to blow away the fumes or they are to speed up cooling of the joints?
<specing>
I think the workforce is expendable there...

<hramrach>
well, every cheap tablet they sell abroad brings a little more money to China. Eventually even the billions of Chinese will get rich enough to refuse to be treated as expendable ..

What is the average pay of a factory worker in china?
<specing>
s/pay/wage/
<hramrach>
I have no idea but it must be very low if it's cheaper to do the stuff manually than building an automated production line
<hramrach>
some stuff is hard to automate but tablet assembly is not exactly in the hard to automate category

was to good to be true, only 1080p@30fps h265/vp9 decoding
<nove>
now makes wondering if is really the video engine, or gpu compute
<lauri>
so it's a bug in the meminfo utility, okay let's assume the setting is correct then :P
<lauri>
what should I expect from this change? More stability? It's clocked at 480MHz currenttly
leviathanch has quit [Ping timeout: 240 seconds]

<ssvb>
lauri: with better tpr3 settings, dram can be clocked roughly 100MHz higher while retaining the same level of stability
<lauri>
alrighty
<lauri>
so what frequencies I could try? 528MHz? 552MHz?
<ssvb>
it's up to you, actually we need more data about the stability
<lauri>
alrighty
<lauri>
I'll report ;)

lauri: you can try both 528MHz and 552MHz, and run lima-memtester with these settings for many hours (an overnight run for 8-10 hours should be a good test)
<ssvb>
lauri: and then please report if any problems were detected
<lauri>
sure :)
<lauri>
so this would mean rougly 20% more memory I/O speed right?
<ssvb>
there are also some other factors, like more correct timings for the selected clock frequency
<lauri>
a10-meminfo reports 528MHz :)
<lauri>
feelsgoodman.jpg :)
<ssvb>
lauri: what about the hdmi signal disruption problem? have you seen these glitches with the increased dram clock speed?
<lauri>
not yet
<lauri>
offtopic: it feels good finally to sit at a workstation that is NOT x86 :D
<lauri>
offtopic: I missed the SPARC and PowerPC era :P
<ssvb>
btw, I got a lot of test data with dram timings and trp3 setup, will post the results soonish :)
<lauri>
not so offtopic: the point being that my ITX box has been turned off for more than a week by now. Cubietruck satisfies 99% my needs.
<lauri>
Currently only Skype is missing..
<lauri>
I wonder how slow would be statically linked skype with QEMU emulation?
<starchild>
why not webrtc
<lauri>
starchild: Implying that I am the problem...
<lauri>
starchild: It's the other users who are the problem
<starchild>
it just needs a modern browser
<lauri>
I'd rather use Jabber, but now even Google scrapped it's support in Google Hangouts :/
<starchild>
the use case is video chat or just text?
<Turl>
lauri: you could use android for skype

linux linaro-nano 3.4.61
<Turl>
byECHO: can you run make linux-config on the bsp and make sure DRM_MALI is enabled?
<byECHO>
It's not enabled. I never run linux-config before. Anyway I will build it again see if it works.
<byECHO>
Thanks
<ssvb>
3.4.61 is a bit old
<Turl>
ssvb: bsp needs a submodules update
