<englishm> Before I start looking at developing Stellar services, I’d like to get a sense of how it works from an end-user’s perspective. I found an iOS wallet app called “Stellars” and I see the links above about exchanges where I can trade USD for lumens, but where do I create an account on http://stellar.org|stellar.org?
<stellar-slack1>
<englishm> I see some references on the site to using Facebook auth - is there some signup widget that might be blocked by Privacy Badger etc. ?
<stellar-slack1>
<scott> @englishm: you don’t need to create an user account on http://stellar.org|stellar.org if you are funding your wallet through an exchange
<stellar-slack1>
<scott> Your wallet should have some way to create an account id (or it may do it for you automatically when you first launched the app) and you can provide that account id to the exchange you use when withdrawing funds into the stellar network from the exchange
<stellar-slack1>
<scott> I’m not familiar with the IOS app you’re referring to, so I can’t speak specifically to that
<stellar-slack1>
<englishm> FWIW, that aspect of user onboarding could potentially be improved. The conceptual docs look good, but I’m not ready to invest that much time into reading through them yet. Would rather play with something ASAP.

<englishm> @scott: Thanks! I’ll let you know.
<stellar-slack1>
<scott> thanks for the feedback, it’s something that we’re continually trying to improve upon. I don’t think we’ve talked about setting up a client experience on the test net, but it makes total sense to me. I’ll pass it along

<englishm> Oh, I just realized there’s also a #start-here channel. Sorry for polluting #general. :flushed: Might consider making #start-here a channel new Slack users also join by default.
