<stellar-slack1> <bitcoinservcs> How do I generate a stellar key? or how to create a stellar account?
<stellar-slack1> <sacarlson> you can create a key set in many ways with some of the wallets or tools. but in many cases if your looking to setup in Live the exchange will create an account for you
<stellar-slack1> <sacarlson> do you want to play in testnet bitcoinservcs ?
<stellar-slack1> <bitcoinservcs> Thanks sacarlson, playing at tesnet now and following the steps
<stellar-slack1> <bitcoinservcs> what is this site for?
<stellar-slack1> <sacarlson> the #general chat for stellar-public? is to ask general questions or help others that might have problems using some of http://Stellar.org|Stellar.org services
<stellar-slack1> <bitcoinservcs> Great!
<stellar-slack1> <bitcoinservcs> Do you suggest storing secret keys in the cloud? any good method to storage secret key oher than printing or in a external sotrage device?
<stellar-slack1> <bitcoinservcs> *storage
<stellar-slack1> <sacarlson> my wallet encrypts them when I store them in files
<stellar-slack1> <bitcoinservcs> where can I get that wallet?
<stellar-slack1> <sacarlson> it's a very primitive wallet just for example but I can post it and it's code here if you like
<stellar-slack1> <bitcoinservcs> please
<stellar-slack1> <sacarlson> this is one of them http://sacarlson.github.io/transaction_tools.html
<stellar-slack1> <sacarlson> the code for it and the rest of my experments can be seen here: https://github.com/sacarlson/sacarlson.github.io
<stellar-slack1> <bitcoinservcs> Thanks! will check! How can I see my new lumens? at http://stellar.org|stellar.org I can 't see them from my dashboard
<stellar-slack1> <sacarlson> oh and what you were asking about saving and encrypting keys would be in this https://github.com/sacarlson/sacarlson.github.io/blob/master/seed_save_recover.html

<stellar-slack1> <bitcoinservcs> Do I need to send some lumens to initiate my account? i don't see more settings or stuff at my stellar account other than the option to send some lumens. Also I am using the key created from the tesnet, not the one created from opening an account, which I don't see the option to register an account at http://stellar.org|stellar.org in order to open a new stellar account .
<stellar-slack1> <jed> bitcoinservcs: the wallets you can use right now are centaraus (a mobile wallet) or http://lobstr.co|lobstr.co or https://www.stellar.org/account-viewer/#/
<stellar-slack1> <jed> you don't register at http://stellar.org|stellar.org for anything
<stellar-slack1> <jed> You can use the testnet key on the live net also
<stellar-slack1> <jed> > Do I need to send some lumens to initiate my account? yes your account doesn't really exist until it holds lumens
<stellar-slack1> <jed> eno is giving them away here: http://www.256kw.com/lucky/281f3d12cadc4ac79555052c9f8c8279/
<stellar-slack1> <jed> so you can get some free ones
<stellar-slack1> <tigre> bravo! @eno
<stellar-slack1> <bitcoinservcs> How can I get the 10,00 lumens that I got from tesnet: 3. Your account should contain 10,000 lumens. Run this command to view your account using the Horizon API. Can I also get lumens from 2 differents priv/pub keys? or just one of them?
