if the ftdi is connected in a fashion you can use the fifo to make USB2 to computer don't hesitate and go for it

worked with xilinx spartan 6 for a bit, but I have some ideas for using really small fpgas in some projects and I figured if I can get one with an open tool chain it would be even more ideal

I had to use the official toolsuit few years ago it was a nightmare way worse than xilinx tools :D
