<chewitt> there are some regressions in the GX audio driver that I didn't find time to bisect yet, and until that's done there's not much point giving people images that don't boot well
<chewitt> also waiting for mesa 20.3 to ship (later this week) so we can drop AMLG12 and use mesa/panfrost in a single AMLGX image
<chewitt> which is working well, but needs some workarounds that won't be needed once the release ships

<maswan> hey, google has in their infinite wisdom decided that "LibreELEC.USB-SD.Creator.Win32.exe" on our mirror is "malware or unwanted software", has something gone wrong with it or is it just google making shit up like usual?
<chewitt> maswan Google making shit up .. we get the same with Georgia Tech occasionally
<chewitt> 3097645e8c5917b0b1fab3303d9f437a /var/www/releases/LibreELEC.USB-SD.Creator.Win32.exe
<chewitt> ^ md5sum taken from the master folder
<chewitt> we really need to get around to reworking the USB-SD Creator app to have signed binaries and such
<chewitt> that would probably help with these things

<vudiq> chewitt: i guess many of the Amlogic patches are obsolete, i.e. projects/Amlogic/patches/linux/amlogic-0005-HACK-media-cec-silence-CEC-timeout-message.patch - can't find file to patch at input line 25
<vudiq> and many others report that they are "already applied"
<vudiq> chewitt: ty
<chewitt> I forget if this is 5.9.1 or 5.9.2
<chewitt> but there's no functional difference
<vudiq> should be safe to merge to master locally, though?
<chewitt> I just pushed an update to 5.9.2
<chewitt> branch should be level with master
<chewitt> what hardware are you going to use?
<vudiq> p200 (docooler m9s) most probably or q200 (beelink gt1)
<vudiq> but it is hard to find some time to test it out... so building the image - just in case :)
<chewitt> I haven't booted a gxbb device for a while
<chewitt> I'd expect to find the aiu driver is constantly crashing
<chewitt> which is a problem I didn't have time to research yet
<vudiq> thank you
andy-burns has quit [Ping timeout: 258 seconds]
<vudiq> i want to adapt the LE master branch for lakka too, we are still on the 9.2 branch with many hacks...
<chewitt> ahh, yes, now I remember where I recognise the name from :)
<chewitt> the trick is, don't over-adapt (as was hacked in the past)
<chewitt> and keep it rebased
<vudiq> there are some firmwares, we do not use (dvb e.g.), so in such cases I prefer to do if [ $DISTRO = Lakka ] ... rather then overwriting the variable contents directly
<chewitt> the goal of the build-system is to support that stuff being configurable
<chewitt> it's probably a bit LE specific as nobody ever formally added another distro to our codebase
<chewitt> but the offer made to kivutar in the past still stands
<chewitt> if you'd like to add Lakka, etc.
<chewitt> chat about that in Slack tho
<chewitt> and/or if there are changes to make being downstream easier
<chewitt> let's discuss with the wider team and then send PRs

<vudiq> there is no folder $ROOT/target/u-boot - the cp fails
kriger has quit [Read error: Connection timed out]
CYBERDEViL has joined #libreelec
<vudiq> not sure, if $ROOT/target/u-boot is the right path, or something else instead of $ROOT should be used
<chewitt> this is a private hack to dump the files out during compile
<vudiq> so maybe a mkdir before?
<chewitt> then when I rsycn the target folder .. you get https://chewitt.libreelec.tv/testing/9.80/u-boot/
<vudiq> but you need to create the folder first
<chewitt> in my local build system.. it is :)
<vudiq> otherwise the cp fails and exits the build job
<vudiq> ah
<chewitt> sure, I understand
<vudiq> so *I* have to create one :D
<chewitt> I normally drop that commit before I push stuff to LE master
<vudiq> thanks for the explanation :D
<vudiq> going back to retro-gaming with kids... ;]
<chewitt> the mesa/ffmpeg HEAD bumps are normally dropped too

<maswan> chewitt: the impact is unfortunately that firefox and chrome refuse all downloads, and for instance debian is a bit frustrated about the new user experience is that the iso download is "malware" due to another binary in the archive somewhere.
<maswan> do you have any useful tips for how to make google reconsider, other than to rebuild the binary and then I can ask google to review it?
