Does anyone know the exact procedure for flashing these arm 905 units? I can press and hold the recovery and power on with no luck, sometimes I get to the android recovery but its not what im expecting.

I would think that you need to be at the recovery screen to do the flashing... no?
damex has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer]

its supposed to launch straight into it. trying "update from ext" etc wont show the sd card. It does show the recovery with "cannot load vol /misc" I have just noticed

dirtwash: the kodi keyboard shortcut for codec info is "o"
<pragmaticenigma>
FatalFUUU: think you're onto something there
<dirtwash>
mack-: I have no keyboard hm
<dirtwash>
guess i gotta try some remote keys
<pragmaticenigma>
dirtwash: kind of important information... how are you normally controlling KODI?
kriger has quit [Read error: Connection timed out]
<dirtwash>
pragmaticenigma: tv remote
<dirtwash>
are people seriously using keyboards to control a media center? seems weird
<dirtwash>
pragmaticenigma: its not super important anyway, just was surprised there was no info option anywhere
<pragmaticenigma>
I have a wireless keyboard the size of a regular tv remote. So yes, I have a keyboard attached to my setup
<pragmaticenigma>
before that I just had a USB extension cable running from my Pi to an accessable place, and when I need to do stuff the KORE app couldn't do, I'd just plug in a keyboard when needed (otherwise used it for friends brining their movies on flash drives)
* pragmaticenigma
doesn't have compatible TVs with that fancy CEC stuff
<dirtwash>
pragmaticenigma: cant run cables :)
<dirtwash>
im happy i got CEC hehe
<dirtwash>
works all well
<dirtwash>
im actually impressed that if I suspend even the TV turns off
<dirtwash>
its ont justlosing hdmi signal it shuts off too
<mack->
just because you don't have a keyboard, doesn't mean you can't press the o key in kodi. Several ways to do it... programmable remote, remap remote keymap, on-screen keyboard. I'm sure there are more ways

oh, something like yatse, even just for occasional use also a solid possibility
<dirtwash>
mack-: sure but allre quires lot of effort
<FatalFUUU>
pragmaticenigma: if I look at the img file itself there is no /misc folder and none of the scripts seem to be referencing one either
<dirtwash>
was just surprised that te player doesnt have some menu option to see file information/codec information
<mack->
there's also probably some skin that includes just that, dirtwash :)
<dirtwash>
mack-: hmmm not sure I can switch skin, im not exactly using libreelec
<dirtwash>
oh i can
<mack->
everything I mentioned is just kodi-related
* dirtwash
never played around with that
<dirtwash>
any skin recommendation?
<dirtwash>
thats nice and minimal
<mack->
no clue :) The easiest for me, if I didn't already have a remote acting as a keyboard, would be to use a mobile phone remote for that function. No keymap editing, etc.
<mack->
(my previous yatse or similar mention earlier)

mack-: the phone app doesn't have the feature that dirtwash was looking for... The official app doesn't provide shortcuts for the HUD
<mack->
pragmaticenigma: I've never used the official app. yatse was always the recommendation when I first started.
<mack->
it has a easy to location keyboard button :)
<mack->
...an easy to locate..
<pragmaticenigma>
I've seen yatse recommended before, what bothered me was that it is flagged in the app store with "in app purchases" but there is no indication what those are

ah.. and reading through the description reminded me why I didn't opt for it

in app purchases is just the option to upgrade to the pro version

xe`: I'm not very familiar with DVB-S. I would need to buy a satellite dish and a SAT>IP device and it seems that I need to pay 15€ per 4 years for sattelite TV whereas I already have almost all I need (except for a usb tuner) for DVB-T, it's free and it's been working fine, I can't complain.
<Antoine->
I could be wrong, I don't know much about it, but I don't see why I would switch to DVB-S. But SAT>IP is interesting! Now I'm thinking, should I buy a usb DVB-T tuner or should I get a PCI tuner, that I could plug into my home server and then have libreelec get the tv channels from my home server..
_abbenormal has quit [Ping timeout: 256 seconds]
<Antoine->
If I go the PCI home server way, I hope I can have several devices watching different channels at the same time. usb tunners are inexpensive and I can easily plug one in every devices I watch tv with but pci tuner are more expensive so I'd rather buy only one
<Antoine->
satellite*
<gavlee>
you can get free to air channels. here there was sky dish already on the wall, had a dual usb dvb-t tuner already (pci previously before that) so plugged the dvb-t into the antenna, usb dvb-s2 into the sky dish.. 3+ streams at once..
