it's broken if you use partial update AND switch your context around in specific ways (like render to backbuffer, then bind fbo, render to fbo, then switch back to backbuffer to continue rendering)

that happens to be what efl does in various circumstances as during rendering of the scene graph it realizes it needs to update the fbo content of something it was about to render - so it switches away then back again.
