Hello fellows . My USB device is seen on lsusb command but not visible on lsblk . No driver is attached to the USB device as seen on usb-devices .
<Net147>
KotCzarny: I have a monitor at work that sometimes returns a corrupt EDID
<Net147>
KotCzarny: unplugging it for a while and then plugging it back in fixes it
<KotCzarny>
nah, it was a case of broken i2c communication, by static electricity or some other borkage
<KotCzarny>
jernej was right, i had to remove power AND second dvi cable that runs to my pc
<Net147>
ah. I wonder if they are connected to the same EEPROM chip.
<KotCzarny>
sure, sponsor a group of software developers for few thousands of man hours and we will see
<KotCzarny>
erm. wrong chan
<chrisf__>
I'm trying to figure out how to start the secondary cores in an H5. Can someone point me at the kernel code that does this?
<KotCzarny>
anyone remembers where that 125C came from? in h3 datasheet there is -20..+70C ambient operating temp, and -40..+125C storage temperature

KotZcarny: I think that 125C is junction temperature
<KotCzarny>
in datasheet its Tsto (storage)
<KotCzarny>
havent seen any other apart from Tamb (ambient operating temp)
<jernej>
KotZcarny: BTW, you can always stall I2C EEPROM by stopping master in the middle of transaction, for example, disconnect power.
<KotCzarny>
which one is master? on board or in monitor?
<MoeIcenowy>
I think different devices will have different EDID handling way...
<jernej>
master is in this case SoC
<MoeIcenowy>
at least I remember for VGA you can seperately power the DDC
<MoeIcenowy>
without the main screen powered upo
<MoeIcenowy>
s/upo/up/
<KotCzarny>
yes, i think hdmi has ability to power monitor i2c/ddc part even if device itself is powered off
<MoeIcenowy>
but I also have seen screens with EDID emulated by a microcontroller
<jernej>
at my previous job, I had to implement special procedure to un-stall EEPROM chip. Unfortunatelly, this procedure needs toggling SDA/SCK lines directly since it doesn't conform to I2C specs
<MoeIcenowy>
and if the main power is missing the HDMI screen is not able to do EDID
<jernej>
KotCzarny: H3 doesn't have junction temperature specified, but H5 for example, has it and it is 125C.
<jernej>
I believe it is pretty safe to assume that it is 125C also for H3. Anyway, you shouldn't get near it in any case :)
<KotCzarny>
yeah, i try to keep 70C max
<chrisf__>
jernej: Where do you get the latest H5 datasheet? My copy (Rev1.0) has max junction temp as TBD.
<jernej>
chrisf__: Search further. It is specified in chapter 5.10
<jernej>
in V1.0
<chrisf__>
jernej: Ah, yes, the electrical datasheet. I was looking in the User Manual (also called Datasheet) Table 10-2 has it TBD there.
<jernej>
chrisf__: Electrical datasheet also has TBD for recommended value. But at least absolute maximum is specified.

125C is pretty standard abs max for any silicon. Life expectancy is a different matter altogether. I don't suppose AW publish any life expectancy data?
