ok, so i'm trying to setup a gpio as regulator (cause it feels nicer then just using the gpio, which i could also use), but i keep getting errors i'm not seeing to understand ... here's my dts snippet: (logs are from a previous run so naming may be slightly different) http://sprunge.us/jFSY what am I obviously doing wrong here?

MoeIcenowy: I think you could at least test if an irq occurs for the thermal sensor on H3. Using irqs would solve your problem of zeros being read when resuming.
<qschulz>
I'll have to think of a nice way to handle the delay after each resume on A33 (no irq occurs on A33 for thermal sensor)

hmm, the commit message seems a bit off though; so the new SPL has the dtb filename field, and because FEL too does NOT need it, raise the version to 2?

i have the olimex 4.3 display connected, and defined a fixed regulator as its regulator. I can now setup the same power-supply for both the panel-simple and for the backlight. Either can now enable/disable the power supply. initially i had it set to only the backlight, but obviously the panel should be able to power itself up too i suppose.
<oliv3r>
is this a bad idea from the software side?
IgorPec has joined #linux-sunxi

ah, the panel won't allow the backlight to be powered off

aidin has joined #linux-sunxi
<oliv3r>
Net147: thus, by setting the brightness to 0, you are turning off the gpio/regulator, which int he case of a shared regulator, doesn't happen as the display is still using the regulator

<KotCzarny>
ho hum. anyone got an idea how to access wl_reg_on from cmdline on legacy? i want to toggle the sdio power, but have to get gpio number
<beeble>
you have GPIO_SYSFS enabled?
<KotCzarny>
CONFIG_GPIO_SYSFS=y
<beeble>
ah sorry, didn't see the legacy in your question
<beeble>
you have to enable the pin in the fex file. otherwise you can't export it
<beeble>
iirc
<KotCzarny>
it's enabled, i just want to get it from booted linux env
<KotCzarny>
without grepping script.fex
<KotCzarny>
wifi drivers toggle that pin because in kernel wl_reg_on is defined
<KotCzarny>
but can't seem to find it from userspace
<beeble>
are you adventures enough to do direct memory writes? :)
<KotCzarny>
hehe, sure, it's rescue ramdisk
<beeble>
only pins defined in the gpio_para section will be exported via sysfs
<beeble>
only ramdisk, bad. you want something like devmem2
<KotCzarny>
no worries, can add it
<beeble>
what soc and what board or better, what pin
<KotCzarny>
maybe i should just hack the kernel and kprint it. then grep the dmesg
<KotCzarny>
nah, i know how to toggle pins, i just have to find out which one i need to nudge
<beeble>
i would look it up if you tell me which board :)
<KotCzarny>
all of them
<KotCzarny>
:)
<KotCzarny>
i mean, i'm hacking autodetect script for H3 boards

if you don't want to modify your kernel you will need to extract the fex file from memory
