A20 *should* work, but I guess it's still missing the nand dts bits
<yrzr>
I have compiled the dtb
<yrzr>
But I don’t know whether it have nand support
<reinforce>
Mainline uses /dev/mtd* instead of /dev/nand*
<yrzr>
reinforce: I don’t get any mtd* device either
<reinforce>
yrzr: can you show your dts file?
<yrzr>
reinforce: I compile the dtb file toghter in the kernel, so I don’t have a standalone dts file
<reinforce>
If so, your kernel(4.14.52, right?) do not have nand definitions in dtb. You should patch it or and add nand pin definitions in sun7i-a20.dtsi and nfc definiton in sun7i-a20-cubietruck.dts
<mdipolt>
maybe i made some mistake, anyone here who succed already booting a toc0?
<montjoie>
mdipolt: does this setup is in wiki (if not it could be worth the cost to add it)
<mdipolt>
if it will work i can add it, in wiki are only links scripts for generating toc files
<mdipolt>
and a simple sentence about the rotpk but not a example howto generate the sha265 rotpk hash of the public key and write it into the fuse section
<mdipolt>
question is why it does not boot, if someone managed it could you take quick look? i will update wiki with procedure when it worked

hmm, for some reason I get /sys/class/drm/card0-HDMI-A-1/modes max 1024x768 on recent kernels (probably 4.19+, but I'm compiling 4.18 to test too), where previously I had 1920x1080 on Orange Pi PC, perhaps some regression?

also I can't dump edid from sysfs, cat .../edid results in empty file, which seems related

jesus :)
<megi>
it's f**ing nvidia
<megi>
I bought GTX card a few months ago, and when I connect it to the monitor, edid fails to read from the other HDMI port on the monitor, where my Pi's are connected :D
<megi>
when I disconnect it, edid reading works fine and I have full resolution on the Pi
<megi>
weird
<megi>
Can the nvidia card be blocking EDID reads on the monitor port it's not connected to? My previous AMD card didn't.
<KotCzarny>
i bet on electro noise
<megi>
hmm, I don't know... if the nvidia card is producing the noise, it wouldn't be able to read edid either. I have a sense that it worked while I was using nouveau.
<KotCzarny>
does it work when pc is turned off?
<KotCzarny>
or in bios?
<KotCzarny>
also keep in mind, using different driver might result in different noise
<megi>
hmm, probably, since nvidia driver has access to more power modes
<megi>
I guess it will be able to make more noise :D
<gnufan>
AFAIK EDID is over DDC that's an I2C bus.. maybe it's the same between the two HDMI interface and the nvidia board is keeping the bus NOT HiZ (i.e. stuck) when it's not using it (thinking it's the ONLY user of the service) so the other device on the other port is unable to drive it correctly (and the 1024x768 is only a "best guess" from the software on the SBC..)
<megi>
Anyway, I'll just force the edid via kernel cmdline
<megi>
gnufan: sounds reasonable
<megi>
maybe nouveau does release the bus correctly

Anyone having difficulty booting 4.20-rc1? It boots for me but doesn't find my mmc device and waits for root device forever

I noticed that there's a new config parameter CONFIG_MMC_STM32_SDMMC ... curious if that is a coincidence or problem
