<smaeul> anarsoul: OK, I rebased the Linux branch that works with crust master, and made the SCPI client driver changes. It works well enough, so I pushed it to the "official" location
<anarsoul> smaeul: thanks a lot!
<smaeul> [ 2.583164] scpi_protocol scpi: SCP Protocol 1.2 Firmware 0.1.9000 version
<anarsoul> I'll test it and if it works fine I'll package it and then put into my archlinux repo
<anarsoul> so you'll get some testing from archlinux users of pinebook :)

<smaeul> dvfs works, suspend/resume works. crust master doesn't have the irq forwarder, so the axp driver gets confused
TheSeven has joined #linux-sunxi
<smaeul> I can see about sticking it in sometime this week (should be trivial to hook up)
<smaeul> anarsoul: one thing to note with suspend/resume, is that the USB phy fails on resume about half the time, which means no keyboard/mouse on Pinebook
<smaeul> [ 95.693529] phy phy-1c19400.phy.0: phy poweron failed --> -16
<smaeul> [ 95.699350] dpm_run_callback(): usb_dev_resume+0x0/0x30 returns -16
<anarsoul> :(
<anarsoul> if serial works I'll try to look into it
<smaeul> yeah serial keeps working (and no_console_suspend helps to see dmesg in realtime)
<smaeul> what I just pushed is what I'm running right now, so I don't know if ANX bridge works, because AXP driver is complaining about not being able to turn regulators on/off
<anarsoul> probably it doesn't, it definitely needs regulators
<smaeul> crust master still has its own axp regulator driver that's used for dvfs -- the other branch has that ripped all out
<anarsoul> you mean crust-v0.1.y has no axp driver?
<smaeul> no, by other branch I mean linux-mailbox-example
<smaeul> it has everything but the suspend/resume and mailbox code ripped out (no scpi clocks, regulators, sensors, etc)
<smaeul> anarsoul: you can disable the AXP803 regulator driver in crust's nconfig. this breaks dvfs of course, but appears to fix the other issues
<smaeul> and you can enable the GPIO power button on PL12, and set it to SUNXI_GPIO_IRQ_MODE_RISING_EDGE in platform/sun50i/devices.c to get lid switch working (you may want to play with debounce)
<smaeul> [sorry for the incoherence, if I had more time I'd get everything set up beforehand, but I'm trying to get you information as fast as possible at this point]

<smaeul> anarsoul: to be clear, you have to use the "crust" branch for ATF/U-Boot with this Linux branch, and you can use either Crust "master" or "linux-mailbox-example" is compatible
<smaeul> there's no reason to use crust-v0.1.y of anything
<smaeul> I'm on IRC at most twice a day during the week, but I'll try to answer further questions as soon as possible
<anarsoul> OK, thanks

<montjoie> raaah I think I need to drop a80/a83t from sun8i-ce

<plaes> ?
<plaes> buggy or really different hw?
leviathanch has joined #linux-sunxi
<montjoie> I have a bug in a83t that lag me the opportunity to send sun8i-ce
<montjoie> and the hardware is different
<montjoie> I think having a common driver begins to be too dangerous
<wens> keep it simple for the initial patches :)
<wens> adding more stuff later is easier than trying to get everything right the first time
<wens> though I'm embarrassed I do this a lot as well
<KotCzarny> just design it in a way it could be extended later
<montjoie> anyway I will always be worried, either "the load part is so common that's a shame not to share it" or "the process part is too different split it!"
