<urandom_> tarball of the xburst tools is old? should be updated or noted somewhere to use the .deb
<urandom_> "Error - can't read bulk data from Ingenic device:-110" what did i do do wrong?
<mth> is it in USB boot mode?
<urandom_> lsusb says Bus 001 Device 004: ID 601a:4740 so if wiki is correct it is
<mth> was something uploaded already?
<mth> if an uploaded program doesn't return then the USB boot protocol no longer works
<zear> i think that's the error i got when i booted my nanonote via the power+u
<zear> try to boot it to usb mode by shortening the pins
<urandom_> ah i used power+u so thats the problem, thanks
<urandom_> should be noted in the wiki to not use power+u
<tuxbrain> Aclaration, not use power+u with the outofthebox uboot, the latest are ok with power+u
<urandom_> wired i still get the same error and i used the hardware usb mode
<urandom_> meh i just want to reflash the ben :(
<tuxbrain> urandom_: using laptop or desktop? some laptops has an internal usb hub that maybe is interfering the flashing procces
<urandom_> oh shit, netbook
<urandom_> oh i currently dont have any deskptop here, this could be a problem
<urandom_> shit now i cant even turn it on
<urandom_> now when battery in it does nothing and when battery out and usb cable in then it makes some noise, this feels bad
<urandom_> i cant have killed it, can i?
<urandom_> (not flashing screen or anything)
<mth> it should always be possible to reflash it in USB boot mode
<mth> since USB boot mode is in the CPU, not on the flash
<mth> you might have to find a different PC to refresh it from though
<urandom_> we really need a simpler method of reflashing the ben
<urandom_> should i actuelly care about noise the ben is making while connected to usb?
<CongoZombie> yp
<CongoZombie> uhh
<CongoZombie> yo

<CongoZombie> ooh
<CongoZombie> interesting
<emdete> urandom_: the method shouldn't be simpler but more reliable i think...
<urandom_> tryed the same now on an old desktop pc, still the same error
<urandom_> i am doing something wrong, shit
<qi-commits> Carlos Camargo: Fixing Makefile errors http://qi-hw.com/p/nn-usb-fpga/47b7172
<urandom_> i download the latest xburst tools deb, then the reflash_ben.sh, set my ben to hardware mode and run the  reflash_ben.sh
<kristoffer> emdete, you there man?
<dmarschal> greetings
<darfgarf> dmarschal, sup
<dmarschal> hello again
<kristoffer> hello again
<darfgarf> XD dodgy connection?
<dmarschal> yes )-:
<dmarschal> i flashed lenny onto my benny and i miss the + (plus) key
<dmarschal> i simply reflashed the ubi filesystem on the existing 05-07 image
<dmarschal> i erased nand before doing that
<kristoffer> dmarschal, has the image been updated? To get rid of the black screen phenomena?
<dmarschal> after 'loading kernel..." message wait 30 secs and try alt-ctrl-f2
<kristoffer> oki, so not updated then.
<dmarschal> i used the 300mb image from pyneo site
<dmarschal> and i used hw usb boot
<dmarschal> one more thing.. i'm using my fujitsu u1010 umpc to flash my ben.
<dmarschal> i had one problem while flashing
<dmarschal> one of benny's rubber leg fell off )-:
<dmarschal> bye, happy flashing!

<larsc> and dead again :/
<mirko> and no wolfgang there
<kristoffer> eek
<mirko> :(
<qwebirc50110> has anybody manged to get kdrive running?
<urandom_> the alternativ solution in the wiki seems to work, at least i could reflash the bootloader but it seems to fail for the image , doing nprog 2048 openwrt-xburst-qi_lb60-root.ubi 0 0 -n caused to say missing arguments, but it has done something with nprog 2048 openwrt-xburst-qi_lb60-root.ubi 0 0 -o as a test, but then the ben fails on startup

<urandom_> yeah i did it! reflashed the ben!
<urandom_> i should write a book about it :P
<nebajoth> cnogratz :D
<urandom_> thanks, this was really hard shit
<nebajoth> you get used to it
<nebajoth> kinda becomes second nature
<nebajoth> but
<nebajoth> welcome to the club
<nebajoth> make sure you learn the secret knock
<nebajoth> or you won't get let into the clubhouse
<larsc> urandom_: write a wiki page about it ;)
<nebajoth> pfft
<nebajoth> then everyone would know
<urandom_> this i kind of a "are you worth owning a ben?" test
<nebajoth> yeah
<nebajoth> like building a lightsabre
<nebajoth> and becoming a Jedi
<nebajoth> you're a Jedi now.
<urandom_> so to become a master i have to install debian or what?
<tuxbrain> urandom_: do it, or do it not, but try never </yoda mode>

<tuxbrain> wolfspraul: a upload indicator on the wiki will be helpfull :)
<wolfspraul> you mean when uploading large files?
<tuxbrain> yep
<wolfspraul> k
<wolfspraul> will remember it, although MediaWiki is a bit outside of my control and with the 1000 things going on I guess I will just lean back and wait until they do it...
<tuxbrain> don't rush, Is just I want to know when I can go to sleep :P
<gbraad> tuxbrain: what will you do when the upload stalled? ;)
<wolfspraul> wi 26
<tuxbrain> make a little anouncement on list, tutorial is not finished yet to do a full anouncement
<tuxbrain> editing building and flashing and arduino board directly in a NanoNote :)
<tuxbrain> and -> an
<tuxbrain> wolfspraul: ok uploaded :) enjoy
<wolfspraul> great
<tuxbrain> done  http://en.qi-hardware.com/wiki/File:Nanonote_arduino_edit_build_flash.ogv  good night to you all
