<stellar-slack1>
<lab> how long will upgrade last? @eva
<stellar-slack1>
<sacarlson> I was able to make my transition without any problems. I now have my funds in the new network. I was expecting much more complications.
<stellar-slack1>
<sacarlson> I was thinking as a promotion for my new poker system I would give away 100 stellar accounts with 35 lumens each on the new network that would also include 100,000 CHP balance. I have one more bug to fix before my auto funder is working to make it so
<stellar-slack1>
<eva> @lab do you mean how long do people have til they have to upgrade? There’s no deadline, but to continue to participate on the Stellar network, you'll need to upgrade.
<stellar-slack1>
<eva> does that answer your question?
<stellar-slack1>
<lab> yes. thanks.
<stellar-slack1>
<eva> Cool thanks lab :)
<stellar-slack1>
<lab> Upgraded! You have 421.999963 lumens.
<stellar-slack1>
<lab> i like the upgrade experience.
<stellar-slack1>
<kwelstr> Ok I am upgraded and all my STR are now LMN. So what happens if I have STR in an exchange, how do I deposit to my account now?
<stellar-slack1>
<lab> of coz depends on exchange
<stellar-slack1>
<kwelstr> lab, I want to know where to send any extra STR that I may have on an exchange, it seems my old wallet will not work anymore and the new one does not accept STR
<stellar-slack1>
<lab> what exchange do you mean? polo and btc38 are upgrading as i know
<stellar-slack1>
<lab> after upgraded, then you can withdraw XLM
<stellar-slack1>
<kwelstr> ripplefox has STR/XRP
<stellar-slack1>
<lab> on ripple network?
<stellar-slack1>
<kwelstr> yes
<stellar-slack1>
<jed> they are also upgrading I think
<stellar-slack1>
<dzham> kraken too, I’m guessing
<stellar-slack1>
<lab> yes. he said he will do withdraw/deposit manually until system upgraded
<stellar-slack1>
<kwelstr> Ok great
<stellar-slack1>
<lab> but gateway on stellar network seems suspended because lack of client
<stellar-slack1>
<kwelstr> ah yeah, no gateways until someone makes a new client
<stellar-slack1>
<kwelstr> RippleFox sent back my STR to my Ripple wallet, I guess it will take a couple of days to figure it out :)

<powderfan> The first upgrade from within centaurus has successfully passed in alpha test!
<stellar-slack>
<sacarlson> fine job powederfan. is it in play or ??
<stellar-slack>
<sacarlson> should I just upgrade the one I have installed now?
Azitrex has joined #stellar
<stellar-slack>
<powderfan> you need to upgrade the existing one. However you won't see it right now, because its still alpha. I'm currently pushing it to beta. You can participate as beta tester by following this link: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/de.xcoins.centaurus
<stellar-slack>
<powderfan> And note, that it is currently restricted to android 4.4 or higher
<stellar-slack>
<sacarlson> oh bummer I got android 4.2 I think
<stellar-slack>
<powderfan> Might work. What Version is API 19 exactly?
<stellar-slack>
<sacarlson> is that something I can lookup on my phone?
<stellar-slack>
<powderfan> don't think so, but I looked it up. Android 4.4 is API 19. Maybe I can support API 17 (Android 4.2.) as well. Just at the moment I have no clue on what causes the problem.
<stellar-slack>
<sacarlson> that's ok just another reason to get a new phone. this one is like 4 years old and has many hardware problems already. only thing that still good is the battery
<stellar-slack>
<sacarlson> I'm also looking at your code. cool you have some examples of steaming that I wanted to try
<stellar-slack>
<powderfan> Yes streaming works quite well for me, now
<stellar-slack>
<sacarlson> ya and it looks readable I think I can give it a try tomaro. the way I have mine setup now is I have to hit a button to refresh
<stellar-slack>
<sacarlson> mine is super primitive but it does what I need

<bartek> @powderfan when I click your link it says: "Your account isn't currently eligible for this app's testing program."
<stellar-slack>
<bartek> "If you've been invited to become a tester, make sure you're signed in to the account that was invited to the testing program. If you've been invited to a Google Group or Google+ Community as part of the program, make sure you've joined the Group or Community."
<stellar-slack>
<powderfan> hmm, I only recently switched to open beta testing, maybe it still needs a while
<stellar-slack>
<powderfan> or maybe I have to still invite you but without need to join a specific group. let me see...
<stellar-slack>
<kwelstr> That's a great article from TechCrunch! I love the fact that Stellar is not for profit :)
<stellar-slack>
<kwelstr> The host of that interview is guilty of speaking too fast and not pronouncing words in full (shorting up words), which is annoying. Joyce does better when she stops to think and takes a pause.
<stellar-slack>
<joyce> Lol, ya, i wish i had more time. the entire video was a single 5 min shot, 1 take.
<stellar-slack>
<joyce> thanks kwelstr
<stellar-slack>
<umbrel> Hey guys, I’ve just upgraded my wallets
<stellar-slack>
<umbrel> Is there any new client/wallet?
<stellar-slack>
<eva> @umbrel Dividend Rippler ( by @nelisky) and Centaurus (by @powderfan ) are both working on wallets and posting here about their progress :)
<stellar-slack>
<eva> It’d be cool to have something from you too, but totally understand if you’re short on time
<stellar-slack>
<bartek> I've checked Centaurus today and looks pretty awesome!
<stellar-slack>
<umbrel> I have it on my phone since 6 months or more, is it the same one?
<stellar-slack>
<eva> There are others working as well, but I’ll leave it up to each individual company to announce :)
<stellar-slack>
<powderfan> thx @bartek! There seems to be an issue though with the effects stream. currently I'm not receiving anything on the effects for account stream. neither on testnet nor live
<stellar-slack>
<donovan> Is @nelisky working on a wallet? I thought DividendRippler was a gateway only.
<stellar-slack>
<powderfan> This is on old network. If your android is below 4.4. it is not yet supported
<stellar-slack>
<powderfan> which android do you have?
<stellar-slack>
<umbrel> marshmallow
<stellar-slack>
<powderfan> hmm and you registered as beta tester?
<stellar-slack>
<umbrel> maybe not
<stellar-slack>
<powderfan> can you go to the about tab and check the verision of centaurus?
<stellar-slack>
<umbrel> I don’t remember how I got the app :)
<stellar-slack>
<powderfan> has to be 2.0
<stellar-slack>
<eva> @donovan: shoot, I think you’re right
<stellar-slack>
<umbrel> ok, it was 1.0, I upgraded to 2.0
<stellar-slack>
<umbrel> thanks, I’ll play around
<stellar-slack>
<powderfan> what do you think of moving the centaurus conversation to #wallets channel?
<stellar-slack>
<umbrel> sure
<stellar-slack>
<umbrel> Yes, I understand reasons. It’s just feels like you’ve been asked to take your private key and kicked out of your home
<stellar-slack>
<umbrel> “Pack your things and go!"
<stellar-slack>
<jessica> the sincere hope is that you’re getting kicked into a much better, more carefully developed home/ecosystem of products.
<stellar-slack>
<eva> seconding Jessica - I can absolutely understand that sentiment, since the account viewer is so simple. But I’m genuinely excited to see what other projects can take a spotlight now, and to have the community really own the ecosystem.
<stellar-slack>
<umbrel> challenge accepted
<stellar-slack>
<jed> umbrel you can also contribute the the account-viewer if you don't want to make your own full blow client.
<stellar-slack>
<umbrel> I’d happily contribute, just need to have an idea what would you like to have there
<stellar-slack>
<umbrel> And I do want to build my own for quite some time
<stellar-slack>
<umbrel> but it didn’t happen in past year, not sure if it will ever happen
Azitrex has quit [Quit: be lucky , have fun , be back as soon]
<stellar-slack>
<irisli> The account viewer could really use some kind of transaction history tool. We didn't include it in this release due to lack of time and not because we're aiming for ultra-minimalism.
<stellar-slack>
<irisli> I personally think it'd be really cool to have multicurrency support, but presenting it in a way that is friendly to users is a monumental challenge that I currently don't have a solution to
<stellar-slack>
<irisli> I think the Laboratory (https://www.stellar.org/laboratory/) is a better place for sending more complicated transactions
<stellar-slack>
<irisli> The Transaction builder tool is going to be finished soon allowing users to create any kind of transaction through a (hopefully) easy to use GUI. If you have any suggestions of what tools might be helpful to make in the Laboratory, I'm happy to listen too (I designed the Laboratory and am the one developing it)
