<stellar-slack> <madams262> what happened to the other cryptos held in my wallet???? i dont see them n e where!! :O
<stellar-slack> <bartek> were you using http://launch.stellar.org|launch.stellar.org?
<stellar-slack> <madams262> yea then it directed me to upgrade and the new view doesnt have my old cryptos n e where
<stellar-slack> <madams262> is there a new log in site?
<stellar-slack> <eva> Hi @madams262, welcome! If you have assets (like BTC or other cryptos) from a Stellar gateway, that Stellar gateway will need to upgrade their software. The best way to find out the gateway's plans is to get directly in touch with their support.
<stellar-slack> <madams262> Thanks eva!
<stellar-slack> <eva> no problem :)

<stellar-slack> <andrewducker> Hi. I just got the "Action Required" email from Stellar. It's been over a year since I first signed up, and I haven't done anything with it, but I figured I should follow the instructions.
<stellar-slack> <andrewducker> However, I can't remember my user name or password. I do have a recovery code, but when I ask for my user name to be sent to me, it tells me that my email address has no account associated, despite me getting my recovery email sent there, back in 2014.
<stellar-slack> <andrewducker> So I'm confused.
<stellar-slack> <fergalslack> Just wondering when will we be able to trade lumens? Are they any exchanges yet for it?
<stellar-slack> <powderfan> I would even prefer only a gateway and a client that supports trading on the stellar network. But I haven't heard of a trading client, yet.
<stellar-slack> <sacarlson> yes that's all that's needed is a trading client and some gateways. since the exchange is built into stellar
<stellar-slack> <sacarlson> order entry would be easy but we would also need to have real time graphs of price and volume displays, some time back I had setup an exchange for WEED and testnet bitcoin, but it was very primitive like all the rest of my stuf
<stellar-slack> <sacarlson> a history display is also needed the shows the status of your preset orders. to make a cool one you need some artistic talents
<stellar-slack> <sacarlson> maybe a simple solution to analisis and ploting would be to just export the data into something like google spread sheets. with that and maybe some extra added spreadsheet scripts you could do most anything

<stellar-slack> <nelisky> @donovan (and @eva) DividendRippler is indeed a gateway only, not a wallet

<stellar-slack> <eva> Hi @andrewducker welcome back! It sounds like your recovery code is likely invalid (see this article: https://stellarorg.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/206458405-Why-is-my-recovery-code-invalid-broken- ) In terms of getting back into your wallet, the only other way in aside from password or recovery code is your secret key. https://stellarorg.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/205745449-I-saved-my-secret-key-but-my-passw
<stellar-slack> <andrewducker> @eva: I didn't even get as far as entering my recovery key. It didn't recognise my email address - despite that being how I was contacted by Stellar! It's mailto:andrew@ducker.org.uk|andrew@ducker.org.uk if that helps.
<stellar-slack> <eva> @andrewducker: Right - apologies, my explanation wasn’t clear - the only way the system will recognize your email address is if your recovery code is activated. It sounds like you didn’t click all the way through to activate your code (even after receiving the email, it still needed to be activated). We changed this flow very soon after signup, but it was still that way for a few days at launch. The upshot is t
<stellar-slack> email, your recovery code will not work (because it wasn’t activated). Does that make more sense?
<stellar-slack> <eva> so given that, your options to getting into your wallet are 1) your secret key 2) remembering your password/username

<stellar-slack> <eva> Joyce’s talk at PopTech is up! If you’re having trouble explaining what Stellar is to your friends (or if you’d like to learn yourself), this may be a good intro video.http://poptech.org/popcasts/millions_of_transactions_for_20_cents
<stellar-slack> <eva> For those who don’t know, poptech is sort of like TED’s little brother :)
<stellar-slack> <eva> Special shout-out to @romina, who designed all the gorgeous slides, and @jessica for honing the narrative :lt3: :rocket:

<stellar-slack> <nelisky> when , what's the reasoning behind the "from" and "source_account" fields. Can these be different?
<stellar-slack> <scott> They can’t be different. `from` is just an alias of source account at present, and in the future it may also do reverse federation automatically (i.e. addresses will become federated names). source_account will always be the address
<stellar-slack> <nelisky> scott: source_account it is then, thanks
<stellar-slack> <scott> np

<stellar-slack> <nelisky> what's the status of the upgrade process on http://stellar.org|stellar.org? I went through but horizon doesn't recognise the newly upgraded account
<stellar-slack> <nelisky> pubkey is GDBZJ4Y5SRQFWCUXUGX64GWWUVULSFK5PPE6QOTYF43J473AWQBNCAU4
<stellar-slack> <bartek> @nelisky: when did you send your upgrade request?
<stellar-slack> <nelisky> 15 minutes ago +-
<stellar-slack> <nelisky> also, jed told me old stellar address == b58encode(ripemd(new stellar address)), but I'm likely missing the actual address encodings in the middle
<stellar-slack> <nelisky> can anybody share some meta code to get the old stellar address from the pubkey above?
<stellar-slack> <bartek> @nelisky: we have your upgrade request but there were some problems connected to horizon and some transactions weren't submitted to the network. I'm going to resubmit them soon.
<stellar-slack> <nelisky> @bartek, cool, I'm in no hurry, I'll look up the address soon again
