i remember nesticle having one version with mostly correct noise channel and completely missing or broken dpcm, and another version with correct-ish dpcm but the noise was fucky

that's when i switched to using those briefly popular japanese emulators which got both things right around 2000-2001ish, then nofrendo, nintendulator, fce and a few other emus came out in early 2000s which blew those away
