Do they every get into classes on codecademy?
<Peppernrino>
mostly python, and c with a bit of ruby
<Peppernrino>
classes?
<vega300000>
my bnc4free don't let me in :-(
<vega300000>
wrong passwd
<Peppernrino>
you're fucked then
<Peppernrino>
did you delete the email they sent you?
<vega300000>
no
<ltkeklulz>
Classes are kinda weird to explain. If you're familiar with structs in C then it's just a struct that also supports functions
<vega300000>
forget it
<Peppernrino>
i'm not.
<Peppernrino>
i will be though.
<Peppernrino>
just got used to strings and variables
<Peppernrino>
it's actually pretty good.
vega300000 is now known as vega3000000
<Peppernrino>
doing string formatting now
<ltkeklulz>
Basically, a class is a collection of variables and functions. You can create an instance of that class then access or modify any of the functions or variables contained within it
<ltkeklulz>
Say you're making an animation. You want 2 cats, one male with orange fur and one female with black fur. Instead of individually modifying each aspect of both cats, you can make a cat class. Then you can say cat1.furColor = orange; cat1.gender = male; cat2.furColor = black; cat2.gender = female;
<ltkeklulz>
Then they will be identical other than their fur color and and gender
<Peppernrino>
ok
<ltkeklulz>
You can include different functions with it like cat.sleep or cat.run or whatever you want and both instances will behave individually and identically
<Peppernrino>
just got the test first try. :D
<ltkeklulz>
I realize I'm not great at explaining it, but that's the basis of object oriented programming
<Peppernrino>
hooray mr
<Peppernrino>
me*
<ltkeklulz>
Sweet
<Peppernrino>
so cat for both, and cat1 or cat2 for eitehr
<Peppernrino>
yeah?
<Peppernrino>
i can str, .upper(), print, len(), indexes..
<Peppernrino>
coming along.
<Peppernrino>
:D
vega3000000 has quit [Quit: Leaving]
<Peppernrino>
on to date&time.
<Peppernrino>
this will actually be immediately useful
<Peppernrino>
poor vega.
<ltkeklulz>
Sort of. You define a class called "cat". Then you can define variables as instances of cat like you would integers or floats or strings. Actually, a string is a class. When you type string1.len(), you're calling a function defined in the string class
<ltkeklulz>
So you can have whatever string you want, but they will all have the same functionality built in and you can easily tell what it is

You could get a Q.Rad to heat your house and they pay powerbill. Inside they have put in a quad cpu with no disk in it. SO you connect to box so it will act as a node and do calculation to both companys and research like boinc and folding.
<Peppernrino>
i know a dude that's making a 3d print of my gf
<Phay>
vag?
<Phay>
you mapped out her vag?
<Phay>
easy
<Phay>
just send them a mold of your dick
<Phay>
she's in the shape of yours
<Deviantone>
Now a 3d printed dick would be cake
<Phay>
