<mattosx>
Hello. If anyone has any insight this problem I am having, your help would be appreciated. I have joined the gridcoin pool and have been successfully CPU mining for a day or two now. I have not been able to get my GPU to work with BOINC, however. I have a NV GTX 970 installed on my Mac, and as an experiment I selected a project with all methods bes
<mattosx>
ides "no NVIDIA GPU" checked. When I update/sync BOINC, the event log shows,
<mattosx>
"Your current settings do not allow tasks from this project..."
<mattosx>
Upon boot, my event log ID's both CUDA and OpenCL for my GPU, with the latest drivers
<mattosx>
Is it because the projects are not compatible with this model of GPU installed on OS X?

ie - investor wallet
<Peppernrino>

* Peppernrino
sexes the shit out of Phay's knee
<Phay>
*knee pit
<Peppernrino>
"pick a fold, and fuck it."
<brainiak005>
because then you'll get all rewards at one time and earn PoS on both original balance and max rewards
<Peppernrino>
well...
<brainiak005>
since PoS chooses an address and gives interest on that address's balance?
<Peppernrino>
you stake in the other wallet as well.
<brainiak005>
yeah?
<Peppernrino>
taht one just doesn't have a cpid.
<brainiak005>
aah
<Peppernrino>
yeah
<brainiak005>
so one for PoR, one for PoS ?
<Peppernrino>
i just outsmarted myself. :D
<Peppernrino>
i guess so
<Peppernrino>
!
<brainiak005>
And just send all coins to the RPi wallet using the default address
<brainiak005>
so PoS gets max rewards without resetting
<Peppernrino>
unless you know some othre way
<brainiak005>
and PoR is rewarded to the BOINC computer
<Peppernrino>
word
<Peppernrino>
and you get an extra layer of secuirty for your main wallet
<VenomGhost>
wait wait im lost here just got here again
<brainiak005>
I could only see using coin control to make a transaction to a single adress in your BOINC wallet
<VenomGhost>
erase and rewind the 2 wallet max rewards

and your main computer has one less cpu-intensive program on it

just a few commit behind
<ltkeklulz>
caraka where should I look to start trying to figure out what to work on to contribute? I know C++ better than anything else, but I wouldn't pretend to be an expert in any language.
<caraka>
How well do you understand the relationship between QT and C++? It's the gui that needs the most attention right now, and it's easy to nibble at
eyeknock has joined #gridcoin
<ltkeklulz>
Not at all lol. I've never done anything with a gui, but I've been wanting to try for a while now
<ltkeklulz>
I was considering trying gtk with python, but if qt with c++ is needed, I might as well start there instead
<caraka>
If it interests you, have a poke around the QT ide and see if it makes sense. I haven't had the time to commit to that myself
<caraka>
speaking of which I promisd Tahvok I'd do a test compile when I woke up this morning. I better go do that!
<ltkeklulz>
Thanks. I won't really have any time until mid May, and even then, I won't have a ton of time, but I may be able to get something accomplished eventually.
<ltkeklulz>
Either way, it'll be a good learning experience

its all on the FAQ post
<Katiee>
"Stat tracking is done by querying each project for an account lookup of the pool's account. A host list is returned with each host's RAC. The script used to do this runs every couple of hours. The time your host's RAC was last updated is shown on the profile page. This is all saved in the pool's database and used for calculating how many Gridcoins you should receive for your BOINC work done."
<MCWarriorz>
yay 250 grc
<Tahvok>
Katiee: do you intend to open source the code later? I'll understand if not... That's a pretty big job you did already ;)

<Katiee>
I'd like to at some point, but not until it's 100% stable
<Tahvok>
Why not let others help you then?
<Katiee>
If I can't do it after a full rewrite, then I would open source it and let others poke at it
