<VenomGhost> I did manage an online kids things but it was like 3USD per hour, manage to get 60 and they owe 60 xD
<VenomGhost> owe me
okae has quit [Quit: bye!]
<VenomGhost> but that was more than my monthly income as maintenance engineer
<VenomGhost> xD
<Peppernrino> ho ware prices for computer parts there?
<Peppernrino> how are*
<Peppernrino> i talked to a camgirl in cuba that said she could get macbooks for like $200 and shit
<Peppernrino> i say we start an initiative to mkae companies set up and use all the existing cpus to crunch for BOINC.
<Peppernrino> SO much power just sitting in warehouses
<VenomGhost> I did already, mom, dad, mine, work, cousin.... some are actually what is the icon and what it does
<VenomGhost> xD
<VenomGhost> actually asking
<Peppernrino> lol
<Peppernrino> you probably had to save up for a year to buy a computer then?
<VenomGhost> well I bought mine on time
<VenomGhost> I have a few...
<VenomGhost> but yes it's pretty expensive now
<VenomGhost> my GPU was about on credit...still paying
<Peppernrino> :(
<VenomGhost> bought
<VenomGhost> most will settle for integrated graphics
<VenomGhost> I played a few games... and now the pcs just works
<VenomGhost> every one I get my hands on...
<Peppernrino> the a-series amd apus are nice.
<Peppernrino> for integrated graphics.
<VenomGhost> so I've heard
<VenomGhost> I wnat my cousing to upgrade, sugesting that little fellows... and... we'll see for hidden ethereum/Gridoin mining
<Peppernrino> um... that HPC mode thing i turned on in BIOS is helping a lot....
<Peppernrino> almost doubling my credits for world community grid
<Peppernrino> :D
<VenomGhost> HPC mode?
<Peppernrino> yeah
<Peppernrino> it's an option in some am3
<Peppernrino> basically high performance computing
<Peppernrino> it doesn't allow for voltage drops. keeps the thing on the brink.
<VenomGhost> "There is an option called HPC Mode that prevents the CPU from lowering its clock rate under load
<Peppernrino> yeah
<VenomGhost> well yes I do eactivate power saving features I find
<Peppernrino> i had that turned off. the whole time. :(
<VenomGhost> but they change names and stuff all the time
<Peppernrino> yeah man
<VenomGhost> like the cool 'n quiet AMD ised to call
<VenomGhost> used
<Peppernrino> this isn't even a powersaving feature. it's an additional feature
<Peppernrino> yeah fuck cool n quiet
<VenomGhost> right now i'm an intel boy... with a k processor and a motherbvoard that wont support it
<VenomGhost> so...
<VenomGhost> just stock no powersaving and no overclock
<Peppernrino> i had a crosshir iv formul afor the longest timew
<VenomGhost> crosshair :) :') ASUS
<Peppernrino> doesn't support am3+
<Peppernrino> beta bios does support am3+ cpus though
<Peppernrino> jsut not all their features
<VenomGhost> love asus my laptop and pc motherboard are asus
<Peppernrino> i try not to fan boy... but i haven;t had a problem with asus
<VenomGhost> cross was assus right cant quite remember always wanted it... but oh boy so expensive
<Peppernrino> it WAS expensive.
<Peppernrino> like $240
<VenomGhost> really I had none.. I did had one msi motherboard that failed on me 1 day after the 1 year warranty expired
<Peppernrino> i waited until the cpus came down some. only paid about $180 for it
<VenomGhost> same with microsoft mice
<Peppernrino> the cord by the usb plug frayed?
<VenomGhost> my previous asus was an athlon based... lasted like 8 years
<VenomGhost> dunno I changed back then it wasnt so expensive... right now im using the one that came with the laptopo
<Peppernrino> i had a dfi lanparty board. back when they were cool
<VenomGhost> razer copperhead
<VenomGhost> heard of those ones too
<VenomGhost> but had none

<Peppernrino> what's crackin?
<Tahvok> Work :(
<Tahvok> What's up?
<Peppernrino> creating newer and better vms haha
<Tahvok> vms for what?
<Peppernrino> dynamic is shit performance... and i made the partition too small

<Tahvok> for #gridcoin-games I guess?
Kaiok has joined #gridcoin
<Peppernrino> :D
<Tahvok> Peppernrino: you can change the partition size you know?
<Peppernrino> lots of stuff
<Peppernrino> it's a huge pain in the ass
<Peppernrino> i don't have gparted on windows
<Peppernrino> and i just deleted daemon tools lol
<Peppernrino> also resizing it won't change it from dynamic to fixed. jsut get it all done at once. start over.
<Peppernrino> i only did like a half hour worth of stuff
<Tahvok> Peppernrino: why do you need a fixed partition? It takes space for no reason
<Peppernrino> no. it takes space so it doesn't get fragmented.
<Peppernrino> it also performs better.
<Tahvok> That also, but only if you use your windows partition for other things
<Peppernrino> i use my windows partition for so much
<Peppernrino> everything
<Tahvok> Peppernrino: you won't notice the speed difference..
<Peppernrino> i'm only installing the linux vm to develop stuff
<Peppernrino> yes i will
<Peppernrino> it'll be fine man. :D
<Tahvok> Peppernrino: you said it's for bot? You won't.. Unless the bot is receiving millions of requests per second..
<Peppernrino> i have the space to spare now. and i'll have another 25 GB free in a week or so
<Tahvok> Peppernrino: I agree on the fragmentation part though
<Peppernrino> i'm saving my new ssd for when i finish my new version of windows
<Peppernrino> i think i'll still use virtualbox for dev though...
<Peppernrino> idk
<Peppernrino> unless WINE works as well as i hope it to
<Peppernrino> some stuff on windows i jsut NEED.
<Peppernrino> going with 21GB
<Peppernrino> if i can fill that, it'll be worth rocking gparted...
<Peppernrino> so far, all the tools i need take up 700MB. lol

<moisesm123> it´s not cheap

<Peppernrino> i wish isps sold more balcned packages
<Peppernrino> 10down 10 up. shit like that.
<moisesm123> well, then your service costs more than here :p
<Peppernrino> mhm

<Peppernrino> we can get max ~250 down/50 or 60 up
<moisesm123> Still, the 70/7 plan cost $100 :(

<moisesm123> I understand you. It´s like the people who lives in the mountains here
<moisesm123> they either have crappy DSL service with just 1 or 2, max 4mb of speed
<Peppernrino> probably not that bad... lol. i'm still in a town
<moisesm123> or they have to use a Wireless ISP which are very expensive
<Peppernrino> yeah that sucks
<moisesm123> Here the company offers up to 50mb via DSL, and the next plans up to 1Gbit is via fiber optic, which is available just for the 0.0000000001% of the population here. They don´t want to invest in bringin fiber optic to current neighborhoods and are only installing them in neighborhoods under construction
<moisesm123> problem is that those 50mb are also not avialable everywhere
<moisesm123> instead the cable provider do offer those 200mb to everyone where cable is served
<moisesm123> sad part is they offer the 1gbit/s for $100
<Peppernrino> O_O
<moisesm123> but I say sad because there is no fiber optic
<moisesm123> yup
<moisesm123> We have a service called Optico Fiber here that offers gigabit for $70, just like google, but they also are not available everywhere
<Peppernrino> will you get google fiber
<Peppernrino> ?
<Peppernrino> ok
<moisesm123> then there is this service called Gigabit-One that offers up to gigabit for cheap price too but are only serving towers
<moisesm123> no, we will not get google fiber
<moisesm123> but it is equivalently the same
<Peppernrino> our isp won't do channelbonding on their end, so i have to buy a service to aggregate for me :(
<Peppernrino> so stupid
<Peppernrino> it's like a ten minute firmware update
<Peppernrino> i know how to do it ffs
<Peppernrino> why can't they? lol
<Peppernrino> our dsl boxes are litereally the best dsl boxes you can get
<moisesm123> because you have a residential service? I bet if you change to a commercial package they will do it
<Peppernrino> nope
<moisesm123> ours do the same thing
<Peppernrino> no commercial packages. same deal entirely lol.
<Peppernrino> i asked.
<moisesm123> oh wow
<Peppernrino> yeah
<moisesm123> ours have commercial package and if we want to get a static IP they only do that on commercial packages
<Peppernrino> "what kind of speed can you offer if i paid you like $500 a month?"
<Peppernrino> "same."
<Peppernrino> wtf.
<moisesm123> but somehow when I installed DD-WRT to my router the IP became kinda static lol :p
<Peppernrino> yeah man. i've been on about this for 2 years now
<moisesm123> haven´t changed in almost a year now
<Peppernrino> check out speedify. it's what i've been using to bond the connections.
<moisesm123> yup. I used it in the beta
<Peppernrino> it's ok, but i think it throttles after a bit.
<moisesm123> never noticed that, but in the beta period it worked fine
<Peppernrino> no matter what i do, pepper's shows start to slow down
<Peppernrino> even clearing all types of firefox cache and stuff
<Peppernrino> speedtfox etc
<Peppernrino> ccleaner
<Peppernrino> dump falsh folder
<Peppernrino> custom ram cache set of 1GB
<Peppernrino> maybe i'll set it to 2?
<Peppernrino> fuck it. she has 8.
<moisesm123> um that´s strange
<Peppernrino> session store off. every god damn blocker imaginable on it.
<Peppernrino> not really... just the good ones
<moisesm123> probably the problem is your ISP at all
<Peppernrino> you think
<Peppernrino> ?
<moisesm123> yeah
<moisesm123> the other days my mom called to change the TV service and those morons changed my internet speed to 256kb/256kb WTF
<moisesm123> I had to call back to fix the issue on their end
<moisesm123> but DSL is crap
<moisesm123> speeds are always slow than your package
<moisesm123> When I had DSL I had a thomson modem, and it told what was the speed it synched to
<moisesm123> I had 5mb down but it received somethings 4900 or 5000 but never the 5120 that is 5mb actually
<moisesm123> thing is the way DSL modem syncs is very bad
<moisesm123> cable modems just retrieve the file from their servers, and basically its the modem that caps the speed, not the service. That´s why Cable Modems could be hacked easily back in the days
<moisesm123> DSL doesn´t the same thing. It relies on the line itself instead of a config file or other method
<moisesm123> so, if your line is bad, damaged or something is bad in the streets where the cable goes, your speed and sync settings get fucked
<Peppernrino> they actually upgraded around here recently... we get top fucking speeds
<moisesm123> do you know if you have a VRAD there?
<moisesm123> in the street
<Peppernrino> no idea
<Peppernrino> what do they look like?
<moisesm123> If there is one box in the street you don´t have it
<moisesm123> let me take a look
<Peppernrino> ok
<[-SaRaFiNa-]> Linked by moisesm123 - Video-ready access device - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
<moisesm123> it should look like that pic in the article
<moisesm123> if you have VRAD, the fiber goes up to there, and then it goes via phone line to your house
<moisesm123> if not, then good luck getting good speeds
<Peppernrino> oooooh
<Peppernrino> i found pix
<Peppernrino> i think so
<moisesm123> altough if you have 25 it should be via the VRAD
<Peppernrino> no man. these speeds are great.
<Peppernrino> upload 250 sometimes on torrents
<Peppernrino> kbps
<moisesm123> yup
<Peppernrino> perfect
<Peppernrino> the line is better than my vpn. i can't wait to buy a dedicated vpn server line.

<MCWarriorz> also I'm getting the PoR reward

<MCWarriorz> oh so if I like mined for 1 second since my last stake and then I stake one 1 second later

<MCWarriorz> well I get to wait 6 weeks

<VenomGhost> so... you think it is indeeed better to stay in the pool having 233 GRC?
<VenomGhost> speaking of profit
kondiomir has joined #gridcoin
<MCWarriorz> no I think 233 is enough
<MCWarriorz> I think you should have about 600
<MCWarriorz> for solo
<MCWarriorz> but my RAC is rising pretty quickly and once I hit 7.5k RAC, I can get a nice 250 GRC boost from the pool faucet
<MCWarriorz> so i should be in a good position from there
<Peppernrino> 200 for solo is the word on the street lately.
<MCWarriorz> oh lol I heard 600
<Wanlorn> hello all!
<MCWarriorz> but in that case im in a perfect position
<Peppernrino> it took me 2K
<nepd> depends on magnitude
<MCWarriorz> well when you leave the pool
<Peppernrino> with 250 mag
<MCWarriorz> you get 0 magnitude
<VenomGhost> why it took you so much 2k?

<Peppernrino> fixed so much shit today.
<VenomGhost> my gpu wont be ETH profitable soon
<Peppernrino> that's fairly off-topic
<VenomGhost> I need options.... I can save for some months GRC /EXP/ KRYPTON/
<Peppernrino> unless you're saying you're excited to use it for BOINC!!!
<VenomGhost> I know... im more inot knowing the GRC profit aspect
<VenomGhost> so I could use my GPU for that
<VenomGhost> for the sake of my wall.. ehmmm science science
MCWarriorz has joined #gridcoin
<VenomGhost> I remember I put the BURP project and I almost got no laptop at my job... quite hot
<VenomGhost> I pretty much sleected all the one that were not profitable at all
<Peppernrino> it's ok. you're still helping people.
<Peppernrino> still tie to get better at this. :)
<Peppernrino> time*
<VenomGhost> xD yes
<MCWarriorz> pogs, lhc, and citizen science work well for me
<VenomGhost> its been a fun ride though
<MCWarriorz> lhc works the beswt
<Peppernrino> pogs is a cool project
<VenomGhost> I have pogs, citizen, wuprop, enigma
<MCWarriorz> i found wuprop is best for android devices
<Deviantone> run gridcoin finance if you dont
<MCWarriorz> theres just not enough cpu power dedicated for a low power project
<MCWarriorz> same with gridcoin finance
<Peppernrino> dear god, my internet is so much faster lolol
<Peppernrino> i'm such an idiot
<VenomGhost> the HPC thing?

<VenomGhost> I could use an atari disguised as a router wouldnt make any difference
<MCWarriorz> is gpugrid any good for 1 gpu?
<Peppernrino> not for mag.
<Peppernrino> pretty competitive
<MCWarriorz> oh
<Peppernrino> moo! is
<MCWarriorz> so asteroids all the way i guess
<MCWarriorz> wait
<MCWarriorz> i have a gtx 780 overclocked
<MCWarriorz> moo! or asteroids?
<VenomGhost> LHC does it need the Virtual PC thing?
<VenomGhost> R9 270X overclocked here
<Peppernrino> i would do gpugrid because you can, but that's just me.
<MCWarriorz> there are no projects that require the virtualbox
<Peppernrino> not all cards can crunch for them
<Hooker63> My local CPID doesn't match the CPID shown on my gridcoin.co profile. The profile has 1 boinc project, but my wallet shows my other two (list cpids)
<[-SaRaFiNa-]> Bah-weep-graaaaagnah wheep nini bong! Is it raining time? 1 GRC for 10 lucky users every 3 hours! Don't forget to tip me to keep the rain going!
<[-SaRaFiNa-]> !rain 10 10
<Hooker63> is that normal?
<Peppernrino> yes there are
<MCWarriorz> i'll run both
<Peppernrino> lhcbeta
<VenomGhost> cpu intensive? good magnitude? My far are mostly old pcs
<VenomGhost> farm
<MCWarriorz> lhc classic is bae
<MCWarriorz> my mag with huge on that
<VenomGhost> I see... I'll think about it
<VenomGhost> :)
<VenomGhost> finance too ... btw I see no citizen tasks here or there maybe I messed up with the share thing?
<VenomGhost> pretty much pogs and wuprops
<VenomGhost> MCWarriorz you said wupropd for android but with the pool?
<[-SaRaFiNa-]> Linked by Peppernrino - Sixtrack
<Peppernrino> calssic runs virtualbox
<MCWarriorz> what venom?
<MCWarriorz> pepper, I don't use virtualbox yet I'm running lhc classic fine :/
<VenomGhost> Wuprop for android devices? but with the pool?
RoyalPhay has quit [Quit: Connection closed for inactivity]
<MCWarriorz> yeah
<VenomGhost> what client?
<MCWarriorz> just set up boinc normally
<MCWarriorz> theres a boinc app in the play store
<MCWarriorz> works the same as regular
<Peppernrino> you shouldn't be using anything but the official client
<Peppernrino> i'm fucking serious here
<VenomGhost> normally? I know but it wont accept the pool account maanger
<MCWarriorz> install, open, click add account manager, add the pool and username and password stuff
<Peppernrino> think about who you're giving your login info to
<MCWarriorz> it's the official one
<Peppernrino> no nativeboinc
<MCWarriorz> what are you talking about
<Peppernrino> no androboinc
<MCWarriorz> what
<MCWarriorz> I'm confuzzled
<Peppernrino> no *.boinc
<MCWarriorz> ?????
<VenomGhost> its ok MC he s slapping me actually
<VenomGhost> xD
<Peppernrino> yep
<MCWarriorz> im so confused
<VenomGhost> I couldnt get the official one to work exceptfor the nativeboinc... With the pool I mean
<MCWarriorz> oh
<Peppernrino> jesus man
<Peppernrino> don't do that
<VenomGhost> xD
<MCWarriorz> well I would assume the normal one works, but I never tried so yeah
<MCWarriorz> I just dug out my old tablet when I started solo
<MCWarriorz> lol
<VenomGhost> OK so you dont know if it works with the pool...
<Peppernrino> atlas@home uses virtualbox
<VenomGhost> you went solo back then
<MCWarriorz> really
<MCWarriorz> no I was pool mining since the beginning
<MCWarriorz> i just switched to solo
<Peppernrino> climateprediction uses virtualbox
<MCWarriorz> also tip of the year, only use the pool faucet once you have 7.5k rac
<VenomGhost> and you set the pool in the official BOINC client?
<MCWarriorz> wait android or pc
<VenomGhost> android buddy
<MCWarriorz> no
<MCWarriorz> I never pool mined with android, I just assumed sorry
<VenomGhost> ok ok :)
<MCWarriorz> if it doesn't work, just pc pool mine for about 3 weeks or until you get 200 grc
<VenomGhost> ill check my mail maybe some soul took pitty on my request (devs, devs...)
<Peppernrino> Beauty@LHC
<Peppernrino> Climate@Home
<Peppernrino> RNA World
<Peppernrino> Virtual LHC@Home
<Peppernrino> Atlas@Home
<MCWarriorz> then go solo and android mine as well
<VenomGhost> that's about the plan

<VenomGhost> exactly
<MCWarriorz> omg ok pepper
<MCWarriorz> I guess I accidentally installed virtualbox I'm not sure
<MCWarriorz> wait what happened to the GRC in my stake balance
<MCWarriorz> it went poof
<MCWarriorz> and I didn't get a stake payment
<VenomGhost> there's a pc client that includes the VPC
<VenomGhost> the left download visually remebering that
<Peppernrino> "This version of BOINC on Android can not use space on an SD card.
<Peppernrino> My understanding is that Android has some restrictions on what an application can put on an SD card, especially if you want to put executable files there. There seem to be ways to get around some of those limitations, e.g. NativeBOINC uses kind of a "hack" (in the words of the author of Native BOINC) to run BOINC almost entirely off an SD card, but I'm not sure I'm entirely comfortable with
<Peppernrino> this solution. But the BOINC team is looking into this."
<Peppernrino> ^
<MCWarriorz> idk why the boinc team doesn't create a boinc client for jailbroken ios devices
<VenomGhost> nativeboin wont even install the client on my lg
<VenomGhost> it works ok on the s5
<MCWarriorz> boinc said theres no iphone boinc because of legal and techinical issues
<MCWarriorz> but they could easily work around the legal issue with a jailbroken client
<VenomGhost> although.,.. only enigma tasks so far... supposely citizen, wuprops should be there tooo
<Peppernrino> "Seems to be a high security risk to put an exe on a removable memory."
<MCWarriorz> and I'm sure they can get through the techinical obstacles fairly easily
<VenomGhost> no SD exe
<Peppernrino> apple would have to approve everyindividual app
<VenomGhost> native asks where internal or external
<Peppernrino> listen man
<Peppernrino> i'm telling you
<Peppernrino> don't do it
<Peppernrino> this shit is hooked up to your gridcoin account
