Hello together, I have a general question regarding the available experimental feature of pubsub. It is currently available as a first preview for testing the API and then an improved implementation will follow. Will this the basis to be used for the filecoin messages?

hi, anybody here? i have a question, can i mount ipfs to a local folder?
<the-erm>
From looking at the help that's printed out ... `ipfs mount` is an option.
<the-erm>
At least on the linux version.
<mackz>
yep, i am looking know
<the-erm>
For the record it's a read-only mount.
<mackz>
yes
<the-erm>
From what I can see, you have to pretty much treat it like a git repo ... sorta.

no, error: Unrecognized option

I would like to test my public-facing gateway. If I provide a path/hash (URL ??) could anybody test it for me?
<jimjamjim>
Rug: sure!
<Rug>
jimjamjim: Thanks. here is the file hash: QmYCTh9BPiegHaSSq9Sz9y5UN8Wn2rFr38HKFum1hxJZH6 andf here is my gateway path: /ipfs/QmUgXzqTRUAAdrj5myDnL49Y2wEsLaJAfR2GeXBYBWSiX5
<Rug>
how "should" I display that? /ipfs/QmUgXzqTRUAAdrj5myDnL49Y2wEsLaJAfR2GeXBYBWSiX5/QmYCTh9BPiegHaSSq9Sz9y5UN8Wn2rFr38HKFum1hxJZH6 ???
<jimjamjim>
QmYCTh9BPiegHaSSq9Sz9y5UN8Wn2rFr38HKFum1hxJZH6 == some guy is point at me :/
<jimjamjim>
Rug: what's the second hash?
<Rug>
jimjamjim: Thanks it works! That second hash is my gateway ip from command: ipfs id
<jimjamjim>
Rug: I think thats your peer id..
<Rug>
jimjamjim: you only needed the 'file hash' to grab that jpg, correct?

Hi everyone ! I was just wondering about the status of IPFS - I tested it a few months ago, it was 0.4.4 at the time, and my hope is to be able to run IPFS on a RPi, but at that time the daemon was getting killed every ~20h due to OOM
anewuser has quit [Ping timeout: 240 seconds]
<Magik6k>
Aleks_, there is some progress on this, you can try running the daemon with '--routing=dhtclient' and there are some more memory improvements in the works
<Aleks_>
okay :)
<Magik6k>
Though it probably won't work that well on RPi as of now
<Aleks_>

just for curiosity, what kind of specs do you have when running a node ? well i guess it depends of the activity of the pinned content maybe, but still, is, like, 2Go Ram enough ? or is the bottleneck somewhere else ?

is the mid/long-term goal that people can have their "IPFS-based" browser, with their browser being a node ?
