<Tonymac32>
chewitt what are you doing to that poor thing? :)
<chewitt>
leaving it to idle overnight .. very stressful for them
<Tonymac32>
Hmm I haven't tried anything with 5.9 yet
<chewitt>
I haven't had much time to poke things recently.. real job is busy
<chewitt>
but it seems to be no better or worse than 5.7 which is the last one I made effort on
<chewitt>
Tonymac32 has the armbian vs. tvbox shenanigans died down yet?
<Tonymac32>
lol Oleg is still making TV box stuff, but I don't thinki we've resolved the naming
<Tonymac32>
I don't venture into there unless I have a TV box I want to double-side tape to something

remembers an S905X2 box hiding under some other stuff

narmstrong: what are the files used for the your pyamlboot script - i mean the u-boot.bin.usb.bl2 and u-boot.bin.usb.tpl ... i guess one is based on bl2 and acs config and the other maybe on bl3* and u-boot.bin - are there any notes on how to build them?
<hexdump0815>
narmstrong: i assume the usbbl2runpara_ddrinit.bin and usbbl2runpara_runfipimg.bin are some magic headers which were dd'ed from existing u-boot.bin.usb files? if not how were they created and are they generic for amlogic or only for gxl etc.?
<hexdump0815>
repk: maybe you have an idea regarding the above too?

hexdump0815, thanks for your patch for atf on S905X3, I didn't tried it yet, but I will!
<narmstrong>
hexdump0815: the usb.bl2/tpl are generated the same time as the final u-boot.bin
<narmstrong>
The runpara stuff are given with pyamlboot, these are fixed blobs used to run the ddr and fip steps in usb
<hexdump0815>
narmstrong: i hexdumped them against some of the blobs and gxlimg output files but was not able to find any 1:1 relation to the usb files
<repk>
hexdump0815 sorry I have no idea how USB boot is supposed to work on amlogic boards. I remember meeting block of assembly that did that in bl2 be never took the effort to try to make sense out of them.

<BorgCuba>
hi, I decided to connect my mxq box with only USB-A sockets to my computer with a (MXQ)A-(self-soldered double micro-b adapter)-A(PC) and it enumertaes as 1b8e:c003
<BorgCuba>
but the "upgrade" tool fails and my attempt to set a configuration fails with -EPROTO
<BorgCuba>
I wonder if the wiring is wrong, but then it enumerates correctly but just the usb control/bulk commands afterwards do fail
<BorgCuba>
I was also running it as SU as well as with a new udev rule and restarting udev
