<isd> So, re: upgrading ttrss, there's an issue I failed to mention -- when the update tries to migrate the database there's one migration where it stops and prompts the user for confirmation, because apparently there was some mysql limitation that meant they couldn't do that one migration atomically -- so they suggest the user back up the db in case of a crash
<isd> That's all fine; there's a backup button right there. But because the upgrade process is interactive, it means the grain won't be operational between updating the app package and the user actually going to the UI
<isd> Given that, the strategy of inserting an article into the feed telling the user what's up isn't going to work I think.
<isd> I should test what actually happens if you try to fetch via the API before doing the migration. Open to ideas re: alternative approaches

<isd> I've noticed that sometimes ttrss seems to make additional requests a few minutes after the user has told it to subscribe to a feed. I don't really understand why; it does the request for the main domain up front and then seems to download it
<isd> I wish I knew how to fix this; it's kindof disorienting.
<isd> ocdtrekkie: I'm going to do an spk publish for ttrss to get it in experimental. I would like to get some other folks testing this. But please do not actually publish before we've settled on what to do about the few remaining issues.
<JacobWeisz[m]> Okay, no problem.
<JacobWeisz[m]> One of the things I want to do in my app review guide is mention using the experimental market for beta distribution. Though we don't really have a flow for notifying the app reviewer of that...
<JacobWeisz[m]> Perhaps we should have people put beta in the app marketing version if it's a version they don't intend to have approved.
<isd> It might be nice if you could provide spk publish with a 'cover letter', to communicate whatever to the reviewer.
<JacobWeisz[m]> At least like an -m "message" or something, yeah
<JacobWeisz[m]> But I have higher app index bug wish items, lol
