<sf-slack> <timo.callahan> @pgielda Do you know of any Renode demos that connect sysbus.eth to host.tap? I'm having trouble figuring out how it works. I have set up at TAP interface at 192.168.100.100, and I have the Arty example .resc that loads HDMI2USB, which says its interface is at 192.168.100.50. I connect sysbus.eth and host.tap to a switch in promiscuous mode, and with noisy logging, I see packets forwarded to sysbus.eth.
<sf-slack> But sysbus.eth doesn't seem to be replying to the ARP protocol ("who has 192.168.100.50? tell 192.168.100.100"). Should I not be using the switch?

<sf-slack> <mholenko> if you have wireshark installed on the host, you can use it to inspect network traffic inside Renode; in monitor, execute `emulation LogEthernetTraffic` after loading the platform and start the simulation
<sf-slack> <mholenko> and yes, you should be using `switch` - both the tap device and the platform's ethernet card should be connected to it using `connector Connect`

<sf-slack> <mgielda> not sure if using threads works well here, remember this was bridged with IRC? @pzierhoffer @mholenko
<sf-slack> <mgielda> also I hate threads :P
<sf-slack> <pzierhoffer> While threads are awesome, I'll repaste it here:

<sf-slack3> <timo.callahan> @pzierhoffer and @mholenko thanks for the tips! The Renode docs are pretty good so I did catch that I need to explicitly start the TAP and the switch if I add them after emulation has started. And I did have wireshark running to look at the external traffic. But `LogEthernetTraffic` is new to me, so hopefully that will help.

<mithro> tnt: Ahh dammit, I forgot we hadn't figured that out yet
<mithro> tnt: Do you know if the timing data in the EOS-S3 timing libraries?
<tnt> Looks like it is.
<mithro> tnt: DOes the timing importer have issues enabled?
<tnt> Nope
<tnt> But the sdf generated from the .lib seems to have SETUP/HOLD data for QEN.
<tnt> I didn't dig deeper, I just saw that after the build in the "unconstrained path report", all the ones ending in QEN seemed to be there.
<tnt> but maybe I'm mis-reading tha.
<sf-slack3> <timo.callahan> @mithro do you know offhand if the LiteEth in HDMI2USB should understand and reply to ARP for IP addresses? I see it pull in the ARP packet ("who has 192.168.100.50? tell 192.168.100.100") but not reply.
<sf-slack3> <timo.callahan> And I should note, this is in Renode, so I guess it's using the Renode _model_ of LiteEth
<andrewb1999> litghost: I'm trying to place a synth IO at INT_R_X23Y100/LH3 with the increased capacity synth tiles and I'm getting an error that a track adjacent to the wire can't be found. I feel like this is probably me not connecting the larger capacity tiles correctly, but I wanted to make sure it wasn't a problem with a known solution.
<litghost> andrewb1999: disable track adjacency checks
<litghost> andrewb1999: They are part of the standard disabled error set for VPR with symbiflow
<andrewb1999> litghost: This is in the prjxray_edge_library, not VPR
<litghost> andrewb1999: Well, then you are likely using a bad location
<litghost> andrewb1999: LH3 nodes are tall, and you may be using a location off of the node
<litghost> andrewb1999: Wide I should say
<andrewb1999> litghost: Oh ok that could be it
<andrewb1999> litghost: For the function get_tracks_for_wire_at_coord, which coordinate system is this refering to? It's not just the normal vpr tile coordinates right?
<litghost> VPR coordinates
az0re has quit [Ping timeout: 240 seconds]
<andrewb1999> litghost: So in order to be using a bad location I would have to be in the completely wrong tile?
