So who is Tube Time? And the problem with that CDTV is that it can read CDs, it can play music-CDs, but it refuses to boot CDs?
<Lofty>
ej5: ^
<ej5>
mine had an incompatible kickstart. i just swapped in kick 1.3 and it works fine now
<ZrX-oMs>
Weird. It looked like standard ROM version.
<ZrX-oMs>
Also know a person owning one of those flash ROM boards. Last time I had it in my hands we didn't have any suitable tools to get it dumped.
<ej5>
i desoldered the chips and dumped it with a tl866a
<ZrX-oMs>
Who knows what the other board holds.
<ej5>
if you power it up with no disc in and look at the disc/rock/laser beam CDTV screen, there is a version number in the lower left
<ZrX-oMs>
Yours is 2.0B1. I've also seen B3.0.
<Lord_Nightmare>
the cdtv ej5 has had the 2.0b1 'dev rom board' plus the a2000 kickstart; he swapped it to the stock cdtv roms and the a500/cdtv kickstart and it now boots cdtv cds
<Lord_Nightmare>
i guess the 'beta' 2.0b1 ROM plus the a2000 kickstart is just not capable of booting the stock cdtv welcome cd for some reason
<Lord_Nightmare>
even though the kickstart is newer and logically it should still work
<Lord_Nightmare>
could it be one of those ".TM" file protection checks is failing?
<ZrX-oMs>
I've never seen other than one .tm file used on the discs.
<ZrX-oMs>
Was the 2.0B1 extended ROM dumped/available?
